Gibbeth!
Lately, the windscreen wipers have been moving without any movement of the stalk, at completely random occasions. The back one now totally ignores the button, the front ones adjust speed in the upper two positions but at the intermitant and off settings behave of thier own accord.Could it just be the stalk thats broke, or perhaps wiring futher down the line? surefunk
Nightmare, I've just got exactly the same problem, Can be driving along and the headlight washers and rear wipe come on all by themselves style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> Has anyone out there sorted this problem before as it is really annoying. If it is the stalk thats at fault are they expensive to replace?

surefunk
For anyone who has got or gets this Irratic wash and wiper problem in the future, I fitted a new Wiper stalk/switch today and it has cured the problem. I'm soo chuffed cause its been pi..ing me off for months. Tried the relay route first and access to that was a pain in the ass, only to find it not faulty. cardaft
My rear one sometimes comes on when I apply the front windscreen washersMr 1.0 Arosa does that sometimes, i took it to the dealers with a list of problems that needed doing and that was one of them. Although its not done it for ages now. They just said they couldnt find a fault, i think they thought i was making it up as they said there is no connection between front and rear washers style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
surefunk
No they are not connected but both actions are put into use on the same switch. Think about it.Well thats exactly how mine started in the first place then it got Progressively worse like the wipers would'nt stop after switching off, they would come on when the stalk was'nt touched, washer jets would come on inc headlights (if on) when switching the wipers on, a real headache!!! Gibbeth!
Fixed the problem of them being completely random wioth a new stalk, but now theyve forgotten where to stop, and now it seems they just stop after a fixed time where ever on the screen they are?Is this a motor/relay fault?
