Yup smile.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

nice one, the tyres on the golf wheels are 60 profiles though so may have to change them? could always ask a garage to swap my tyres over from my rosa alloys onto those as they are both 14"?

Yeah standard alloys are 14's.

I've got 55 profile on 15's and they only rub slightly at full lock so you should be ok rubbing wise with that rim / tyre combo but they'll just look crap laugh.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Polish them though, and they'll look proper bling shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

so about this polishing lark.. do you have to go to a specialist or is it acheivable DIY?

what do you do? just get a polishing substance and rub and rub and rub till your elbows drop off?

they are coming on wednesday.. havnt actually got my car at the minute though, its in the garage having its EPC and exhaust emmision lights sorted out.. they keep coming on! already been back 3 times with the same problems! getting rather annoyed now, plus im stuck with a 1.3 toyota corolla.. you know the REALLY ugly bug eyed one!

It is achievable I did by Estorils by hand, you need to strip the paint off first using paint stripper then start rubbing with sandpaper low number first then work up to about P1200, then polish with a polishing kit, I used Frosts but there are plenty out there.

Dont get me wrong its hard work and you need to keep them polished but I am happy with the result.

i think i will go down the polishing route.. the two examples shown above look great!

regarding the fitment of these wheels.. will it be okay to just pop them on then and use my original seat wheel nuts on them? iv heard stories of people using the same bolts they had on previous wheels and them being unsafe on different wheels.. any advice would be appreciated.

polo wheels are an ET of 45 as you said and i am pretty sure your car is an ET of 43 ( mine is and its not a GTi ) so they should fit , double check with one of the other guys first thats 100% cert though

Should be the same, VW fitment so I see no problem. Go for chrome bolts though, added bling factor shades.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" />

@ OLW - Colour coded centres would look so awesome on your car. Will have a go on photoshop later biggrin.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Just got the alloys today, my original alloys are et43 right.. i have found out that the MK2 alloys are et38

as listed here....

6.0x14 ET38 4/100 Avus

6.0x14 ET38 4/100 Pirelli

6.0x14 ET38 4/100 Montreal

6.0x14 ET38 4/100 Le Casellet

6.0x14 ET38 4/100 Silverstone

6.0x14 ET38 4/100 Zandvoort

they are all the mk2 alloys that conrrespond with the ones iv got eg. 6"x14" 4x100 etc.

so this et of 5 that im missing! whats it mean, will they run alright?

heresa pic of one ivjust slapped on to see what itlooks like... tyres are huge 60 profiles!! would be changing them if iam guna run/refurbish the wheels

They should look good polished up with some lower profile tyres on. Like Bluloop says polishing is pretty easy really, those le castellets should be dead easy by the looks of them.

Nice wheels, very subtle...

I'm running 185/60 on my 14" BBS RJs until they wear out as I can't afford to throw away money.

Not too bad, speedo's a bit out, but it makes motorway driving a tiny bit better.

When worn out I'll go back to 55 series.

They're also ET38 and I have no rubbing on -45mm AVO springs.

They look decent! im gonna have a crack at polishing them in the very near future.. i think im going to buy some lightweight wheels aswell, maybe black/white pro race 2's or the new oz's.. just so i can swap them over once in a while for a change.

thanks for that pic though bluloop and to chris for the info/how to's on the polishing! big help! n cheers for everyone complimenting the rims..
