Dale
I'm sorry. I know this has probably been asked a 100 times before BUT.What exactly is needed for the G60 front brake conversion? Can i use any parts of my existing brakes? Any body know rough prices and PNs for the bits?Cheers
Joe
just a set of G60 discs and also a G60 carrier for each side. You use the original caliper, and 'think' you can even you the original pads if you can't afford new g60 ones ?
Mike_M
As above.......Pair of:G60 / Ibiza Cupra mk3 / Ibiza GTI 2.0 / and there are some others too 280mm caliper carriers and 280mm 4 stud vented discs. You can use you original padsI have the Ibiza GTI 2.0 16v kit on mine which is identical..........mainly because it is over looked by most and also because it is younger/newer stuff.Ibiza GTI 2.0 16V being 1998 and the G60 being 1990 Edited April 25, 2006 by mike_m

M1 Lupo
Dale, £120 is good for a pair of new carriers.
GTi Si
So its just a case of removing the existing carrier, bolting in the G60 etc carrier and put on new disks??Also, what is the minimum wheel size you need to use? I assume the 15" Bathursts are fine.S
Mike_M
Bathursts fit over them fine
GTi Si
Cool, think i have found some for £50 so going to give it a go! The brakes are so pooh at the moment.According to my service manual should have changed the brake fluid in April!Just a quickie, when I am breaking sometimes quite hard and go over a big bump/pot hole the brake peddle or box moves/flexes.Is this normal??S
Mike_M
Not experienced that unless you mean the ABS kicking in.The brakes make a difference.........I feel more confident and have not suffered brake fade since.
GTi Si
Could be, dont usualy look at the dash at the same time! I wondered if it was the peddle box or just flex in the front end.S
M1 Lupo
More likely to be the abs pulsing the brake pedal. Which feels like its gently tapping the sole of your foot.
GTi Si
Got some style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />Which VAG model should I ask for when buying the required 280mm 4 stud disks?SPS: Anyone what some VR6 calipers? Or should I fit them as well??

Arun
do these conversions fit lesser models?ie. sport?
Mike_M
If you have detachable caliper carriers and min 15" wheels.........most lower models have the carriers attached to the hub to my knowledge which are not removable without changing the whole hubCould be wrong! Joe
I think the sport shares the GTi brakes....
M1 Lupo
It does, except the GTi is supposed to have 25mm thick brake discs up front. Mine didn't.
