Mr.Badbrains
Has anyone raised their engines yet? Or is it even possible? Im looking for something like 10-20mm lift to get some ground clearance for the trans and oil pan.
Rich
always possible but you'd need a chassis notch for the angles. plus custom spacers or washers...
Rich
but unlike a ml4 the lupo sub frame tends to scrape first so raising isn't that much of an issue.

You mean notch for driveshafts? That wouldn't be a problem. Right side is already notched. 1 hour ago, Rich said: 1 hour ago, Rich said: but unlike a ml4 the lupo sub frame tends to scrape first so raising isn't that much of an issue. Hmm yeah, I thought of that, but it would give me some peace of mind. The skid plate I now have, is scraping all the time. I'd run the skid plate, but removing it would get me 1-2cm lower aired out. At least that's what the scene kids told me.
Rich
I thought the point of air was so you could run it higher?
Mr.Badbrains
No it's for parking it lower.

weslangdon
why not use 185/60/R14's like the original Golf GTi or the equivalent for 15 inch tyres, softer ride and greater clearance, win win

Rich
a sump every few months is still cheaper than buying air, whatever management the scene demands and then dealing with leaks and all the other ****.
Pete
It's even cheaper pressing a button that lifts the front end up a bit more over suspect surfaces, there are 8 presets on v2!
Rich
I don't think raising is an option I'm this thread Pete.
