weslangdon
Has anyone retro fitted aircon to a Lupo, assuming the parts are easily sourced [probably far from true] what are the issues that I would face in fitting it, would fitting it to a TDI pose more problems than to a petrol engine
Rich
no different using the tdi over the petrol. If I was to do it I would use Polo parts and for simplicity I would make my own wiring
weslangdon
not GTI parts?
Derv
I used to have AC in one of my TDIs. The wiring would probably be the trickiest bit to integrate, but not too difficult while the dashboard is out.
Rich
polo 6n2 parts are exactly the same and a lot more readily available therefore cheaper.
mk2
I've done it twice before, not Lupos though. It is a LOT of work. About 60h I'd say. The wiring is the easy bit. Almost the entire front of the car -outside and in- has to come out. You need to make sure that the idle adjustment works or it becomes difficult to drive in traffic. Read up on how to chamge the heater matrix... It's that plus much more.
