mattarosa
And also when she's away use the dishwasher to clean bits
myles983
I like that one.... I'll bare that in mind
mattarosa
Blame your dad too, claim you can't use the dishwasher if she finds out
myles983
Slight issue with that part: I've been using the dishwasher since I was about 12, and my mum has a girlfriend whilst my dad lives the other end of the country I think she'd want to know more why he was in the house compared to what was in the dishwasher
mattarosa
Well blame someone else waging machines live longer without car parts have you got everything back together yet?
myles983
I'll just do it whilst they're away. Not yet: head is back on and tightened down, got the water pump to fit, cambelt, oil and coolant change, and then that's it I think.
mattarosa
New gaskets too? The common water pump problems of a plastic shaft onto metal fins.

mattarosa
Best way, is it the bby engine or the other 1.4 16v?
myles983
Off the top of my head, I can't remember, but I'm sure it's not the BBY. It's A-something. AUQ or AKQ springs to mind, although I think Audi are AKQ so it might be AUQ.
myles983
Or that might be the gearbox code....speaking of which, will also possibly need replacing soon
mattarosa
It's alright my Lupo has the bby 1.4, yet to sink my teeth Into it properly.

On another note, we got Loopy running. But only if we hold the throttle body open.... A new throttle body is on the way, however it sounds like a diesel on startup, which suggests to me that something else is amiss too. Will keep updating as things develop!
