  3. hi, ive done a serch and found a few things but not loads, went to check oil level 2day and bonnet will not pop open. i always thought it was a bit stiff to open (felt like i was going to pull the lever off!) but now it just isnt doing anything, just want to see if anyone has experienced this or has an idea how i can open it. pretty sure ive got about 0.3l of washer fluid in too =] so could do with filling it up asap. thanks =]
  4. see i must be the only one that likes black wheels so id say keep em black, but i do agree that they would look better with a polished lip and smaller tyres =]

  16. i need to replace my cv joint on my gti, and was speaking to my mate who is going to do it for me and he said it would be easier just replacing the driveshaft, but i would like to know if these are different on a gti or would one off any model be just as good? any one had 1st had experiance with this help would be much appreciated =]

  18. sorry to drag up a verry old thread, but when i turn right the car makes a sort of 'squeek' noise and it doesnt have to be on full lock either, wondered if anyone had an idea of what this could be? no wheel movement and no knocking and it doesnt do it when i go left..
  19. adrian flux are good i only paid £650 fully comp on my gti and she said i can do as many modifications as i wanted and it wouldnt go up by any more at all just a £25 administration fee each time i declare something, and its like for like mods. inc all the extra crap - legal cover, courtesy car etc
  20. i would get coilovers if it was me - personal choice (they cost a bit more, but in the long run i would say better. if you lowered it on 40mm springs and wanted it lower then you will have to buy more springs and more hassel!) at least with coilovers you can mess about for a bit and then decide on the perfect ride height danny
  21. hi mate, my drivers side window did the same thing a few weeks ago, check the switch first because its the cheepist thing (about £10-£15 i believe) i tried numerous switches and it didnt make a difference so i ruled that out, check the wiring in the loom that passes through your door, i had a few slightly broken wires so i soldered them back up and taped the loom back up, this still didnt make a difference but i guess it needed doing neway to stop problems later on =] lastley i changed the motor, because they are a common problem i believe and more than likley this is what it will be (or the switch) i got a 2nd hand one from scrappers for about £50inc postage popped it in tied evrything back up and success. its been working for 2weeks now no problems. also there is a guide on here somewhere about repairing switches to save a few quid which i found helpful, someone will post it up im sure =] hope this helps. danny no idea with the alarm one sorry =]
