Then this weekend i took a trip to dark side developments in Barnsley to have a bigger intercooler fitted. Made a huge difference to the intake temps and really happy with how it looks and works Can just about see it through the bumper Also had a new steering wheel out of Ryan's show winning lupo,I'll post that pic up tomorrow Thanks for looking

Hi there, Quite a few of you will probably know my lupo by now as I've had it for around 5years and been to many shows . Starting a new build thread as my old one is around 3 years old now. I use the car everyday and was doing around 600 miles a week ,moved closer to my work now so I have a bit more cash to throw t it to keep it going, did have a deposit on an 06 cooper s but changed my mind at the last moment I'll try and get some pics up of how it stands now

I'm guessing you get a lot of brake fade? -
I took my back box and cat out and I've recently had a ful stainless system with back box fitted, way more responsive now it's back on,I would just take the cat out and leave the back box on

What brake setup are you using? E.g combination of what discs and pads -
I knew these weren't the 195/50s,just wondered how you were finding them,i should have put it in your gti thread really
-
Saw you around midnight ,I was in the silver tdi
-
How do you find the 195/50s I've got them on mine and they seem to give much more grip than my 45s ever did Which is good as I leave for the nurburgring in a week

ive got weitecs and whiteline rear arb and 195 tyres all round and it still rolls like a boat to be honest,i think polybush and a proper proffesional setup are the way forward -

whats the driving position like with the fixed back buckets,i want buckets in mine but also tempted to get reclining style ones -
well as racekor sounds a lot like race car im guessing its to do with track prep, any trouble getting the 195/50s on,always thought they were slightly too high a profile for the lupo, ive been tlking to ryan though about a proper remap and polybush/solid top mounts
-
pretty much the same as im planning for mine but im starting with a tdi getting a hybrid turbo within the next month or so and then a lot of lightening and replacing will be taking place, what sizes are the wheels?
-
rears can attach to the rear selt belts bolts, but as for fronts its a bit tricky,as said youll need to drill
-
looking at that add they say it avoids flickering with having the correct ballasts, maybe thats the cause of the problem
-
ive got 7.5s on the back of mine with 195 45 15s on and cant have anyone in the back,my archs have also been rolled,8.5 would look pretty stupid cus of the amount of stretch you wold need to fit them on
-
my tdi is mapped and it does make a difference,to get really high mpg you have to drive it pretty slowly,in mine ive had up to 78mpg on my scangauge but that was over a long distance and tucking in behind trucks etc. give it a good service and take it for a good run and see if it improves, the temps at the moment dont help because of how cold its been

Lupo TDI takes ages to warm up
richardn replied to smithysmoo's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
it will come on in the morning cus the engine will be starting from cold,it wont do it on an afternoon as a rule because the ambient temperature is normally warmer and there will still be remaining heat from when you drove it earlier. had mine 4 years now and its always taken ages to warm up,wouldnt worry bout it tbh -
you honked at me but i was in my own little world at the lights you local?

i thought 24 as well
