  1. PS. It will fit any Lupo (pre 2000 may interfere with aerial). Non GTIs will need to drill some holes in the tailgate.
  2. For sale: 1 x Lupo GTI engine cover. In good condition. 1 hairline crack that has been repaired with a plastic weld. Barely noticeable but with a bit of flexible filler will be invisible. Perfect for someone to paint up whilst keeping their existing one on the car whilst they do. NB: the gray inserts ARE included (just not photographed). Pictures: This will fit some non-GTIs with minor modification. There is a thread on it somewhere. Seem to remember it fits 1.0 better than 1.4. Given the crack I'll accept £15 + postage (or collection from WR3). Jon
  3. For sale: 1 x Lupo GTI spoiler. Came off my GTI because it was bubbling. I had it resprayed and it bubbled again so I had it taken off and replaced it with the Votex accessory one. I sanded it down so it could properly dry out and then I could sell it. Its been sanded back and kept in a warm house for about 6 months now so I'd say it was dry. If you get the light fitted properly and get it bonded on properly there is no reason why it should bubble again. It will need more prep - I sanded it back past the primer to the material in lots of places to give it maximum chance to dry out. It will need fine sanding to get it flat and the area around the light sanding too then priming and painting. I also have kept the box from the Votex one so it will be properly packaged in a box of appropriate proportions. I gather these are getting rare but given that it needs a bit more work before it can be painted I'll let it go for £60 + delivery (max £10 I would imagine). No offers unless for collection from WR3. 4. Look at the 'T' piece that is the demister for the windscreen. I bet you in the very middle there is a loose bit. I used some superglue to stop it from moving.
  5. Check your xenon washer jet fuse if you can't understand why your horn doesn't work. If you don't believe me search for 'My horn isn't horny anymore'
  6. True. I think it took many a while to realise that £3.5k was the going for a Lupo GTI.
  7. Getting a bit more sympathy on here than you are on Pistonheads! I hope you get it sorted.
  8. There isn't £50m sat there in the picture but there will be somewhere near it when you take into account the R+D costs of all the components PLUS the manufactured cost.
  9. Thanks for the input Jon. I didn't know there was more than once microswitch. The interior light comes on and VAG recognises a change in state so at least one microswitch must be working. RE edit: i take it you reckon the other microswitch does the alarm and also the fuel pump? The GTI has never made the same 'whoosh burble' noise the TDI did when I put the keys in the ignition (not opened the door).
  10. OK, I hear what you are saying. But why doesnt the alarm go off as soon as I open the drivers door like it does with the passenger side and the boot? The only explanation is that is designed like that. And, I'm not arming the alarm with the fob so why would the alarm arm with the key but not un-arm with it?
  11. Your English is better than most of the people on here! The lock/latch mechanisms fail a lot. So I'd guess that one of them is broken. Probably the one where it locks then unlocks.
  12. I love Club Lupo but it isn't half frustrating when you go to the lengths of fully explaining the situation to help people help you and no-one replies, especially knowing that if I'd put 'my alarm is broken. any ideas?' I'd have had people trying to help out!
  13. I think there are Arosas in this colour, no?
  14. This is the only difference I have noticed as well. They won't stop you any faster because the same amount of pad material is in contact with the disc. Apart from the above the only other difference might by the larger disc dissipates heat quicker (larger surface area) so are less likely to cause fade. However that is going to be barely (if at all) noticeable.
  15. I take it there aren't any regs on indicator height?
  16. I'd be very grateful if anyone could shed any light on this for me. I have a GTI with standard factory fit alarm and remote central locking. Symptoms: My remote fob doesnt work (seperate issue I think) so I manually unlock the car using the key. All locks (drivers door, passenger door and boot) are heard to unlock. The red LED by the door pin continues to flash (and I don't think it used to when I unlocked with the remote fob). If I open the drivers door the interior light comes on and I can get in and start the car. However, if its windy or I take a long time to put the key in the ignition the alarm will go off. I'm guessing the sensor in the headlining catches me eventually. If a passenger opens their door (or the boot is opened) before I get the key in the ignition the alarm will sound immediately. In terms of the alarm going 'off' sometimes it will be siren and indicator flashes but sometimes it will only be indicator flashes (i.e. no siren). Things I've investigated: VAG-COM correctly reports that both the passenger and the drivers' door are open/closed when they are and confirmed by interior light coming on at right times. In another measuring block it says unlocked when all doors are locked and unlocked when they are all unlocked (i.e. when pressed lock/unlock on arm rest). When I push the pin down on the drivers door it stays at unlocked but when I push the pin down on the passenger door it says locked. Thing is I'm not entirely sure what that measuring block is supposed to show (all doors or just one?) Other things to say: the door latch mechanism in the passenger door is relatively new (I replaced it with a brand new part). The key fob works for a while if you strip it down and put it back together (with same battery so maybe loose contact?) but I haven't been able to test what the alarm does when the fob is working. Input would be greatly appreciated because I can't really afford to have an auto sparky poking round for a couple of hours on top of any parts needed. Jon
  17. Yes they are interchangeable. You have to take the wheel off so you will get an airbag light that you will need to clear. Its just lots of screws and knowing where to look for them. If you pm me your email address I'll send you a guide.
  18. I saw you today arriving for work. Parked on the yellow hatchings as normal! I live in Northwick and work in Droitwich. Where do you live? How long have you had it?
  19. Hello. I think I keep seeing you around. Often parked in the carpark at Blackpole? Homebase/Argos side.
  20. 170 isn't that good so I'd say theres always been something wrong with it.
