  1. I think either would be dead funny. In fact is what we need is one of those automated programs that will just do spurious registrations all day style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  2. The Lairy Pickup is a Mazda - on airbags with a V8 up front - runs about 12s Quarter. Paintjobis about 3 weeks old, and got keyed within 3 days style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" /> I'll say hello next month.
  3. (first seen on VZ posted by pyro): The Spice Girls are running a competition to choose a city where they will play a special gig. Anyone can vote for their city, and the city with the most votes will win a gig by them. They say they will play wherever gets the most votes. So where better than Guantanamo Bay?! We have been given the power (and it's Girl Power!) to get some much needed entertainment to those detained indefinitely under questionable circumstances and conditions in Guantanamo! So, if you agree, you need to do two things: Firstly, forward this email to all your mates. Secondly, cast your vote by following these instructions: Go to the Spice girls web site Spice girls http://www.thespicegirls.com/en/index.html# Click the link "Vote for the girls to play in YOUR SPICE CITY!!!" Under Country, choose Cuba Under City, type Guantanamo Bay Click VOTE Leave the Name and Address fields blank Type an email address in the email field, preferably a real one, though I'm not sure it matters as long as it's anything AT anything DOT anything Leave the Mobile field blank Your democratic duty is done. You've just told them what you want, what you really, really, want!
  4. I was with the Grey S3 you parked opposite (or Yellow Porsche if you noticed that was parked next to me). I would have chatted, but always get lost for words in the face of a lovely looking lady. The give away was Lunalupi and clublupo stickers on the car style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  5. just send it to paul.willis @ volkswagen.co.uk (I dont think he is VWG.co.uk) - He'll pass it onto the relevent folks.

    LunaLupi -

Spotted in the pub last night - would have said hello, but was too busy gawking like a school kid. Lovely car as well.
  7. I'm with Matty B on this - if you want a Type R - get the Integra. Some other options you might not have considered, all respectable performance, plenty room, and I cant imagine a great deal different to insure than a CTR; Audi S2, S4 BMW E34 M5 Mercedes C36 AMG, C43 AMG, E36 AMG Volvo S60 T5
  8. Hey dude - tried to send you a PM - but it looks like 3 zillion other must have as well. I'd love one for existing customer. Cheers style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  9. I had one of these. I agree totally regarding build quality. As for the rest, it was a fantastic car, handling is fantastic, but engine needs to be really used to get the best from it. If I were to run a cheap track car this would certainly be high on my list to consider.
  10. I think most of the quattro stuff does. As for Fuel my recent cars driven 'sensibly' during day to day driving: A4 1.8T sport - 400 miles on £60 S3 - 250 miles on £50 A2 1.6 - 300 miles on £30 Beetle 1.6 - 250 miles on £40 The A4 was fantastic on economy, which given it has 212bhp was quite suprising. The S3 is averaging around 21mpg at the moment, whereas the A2 is late 30's most of the time. I think the key is what your daily drive is like - my mrs does 75 miles each way mostly motorway and gets over 30mpg from the car, whereas mine is all stop start local traffic and I am lucky to get 20 - if economy is going to be a factor then maybe you need a fabia VRs - chipped .........
  11. And Campers - well ....... I'd love one with a scooby engine style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> VZi is a good place to look for aircooled stuff: http://www.volkszone.com/VZi/
  12. I ran a 275bhp TT - same engine as the S3. the economy wasnt that bad - certainly not bad enough to be a deciding factor in buying the car or not. In normal use the TT returned around 32mpg more on longer journeys, this dropped to mid 20s if you were giving it a lot of stick, but this wasnt every day. These cars suffer with all the normal problems associated with the 1.8T lump - water pumps, etc. IF you go for a remapped one there have been instances where the remap is not done well causing cylinder temps to get too high and you end up with pistons melting, but this isnt a common issue. For info on these I'd check out Tyresmoke or audi-sport where there is a significant number of S3 owners and it'll give you a good indication of what problems people are suffering.
  13. I used to do Jiu Jitsu, Nin Jitsu and Bo jitsu. Very good level of fitness, flexibility and defensive skills can be attained through Jiu Jitsu. As mentioned in this thread though if you can find a good local mixed arts class they are very good. Many of the Jiu Jitsu classes will help you to defend yourself but they can be limited with offence should you ever find a need, and this is where some of the mixed arts can help you. Bo jitsu is of no real use (IMO) in day to day life, it does help coordination and dexterity and it looks good, but a 'Bo' is effectively a tapered quaterstaff - and it looks good in displays and stuff, but you dont often have one to hand in the street!!!
  14. Lets be honest - to work in VW CS you need to have training to remove customer service skills, and not many of the other departments are much better so knowing their company name I bet doesnt feature highly.
  15. I ve signed also, but TBH do you think the government is going to listen? They still think Speeding is one of the deadly sins regardless of what facts actually show, so I doubt they will take much seriously from a motoring lobby.
  16. There are a few MK2 owners on Oxfordediton.co.uk and perhaps clubgti?
  17. Mine was the older V6 Syncro version - with the Audi Engine, not the latter VW engine. Was pretty good tbh, not fast, but quick enough and considering it had been clocked (by some scum car tuner) it was going strong. The faults you are describing come up quite often on TSNs Passat forum - fairly common issues by all accounts.
  18. There is an S6 round the corner from me - Moro Blue with tints - looks very cool. I like the Saloons, very understated. Wont be long until the new S6s are that price!!!
  19. Just being patient and taking advice at the moment. This is a dealership that doesnt keep records very well. I had a Passat, turned out eventually it had been clocked. Went into wayside for some work and they registered the mileage on dialogue as 1 more than its previous visit to dealership - that visit had been 4 years previous. They did this because current mileage had been less and it made it difficult on dialogue ???
  20. Well I have a note of mileage because of recording business / personnal mileage. Also reset the trip to zero when I drop it off. Last time I collected it it had 421 on the trip!!!! Its got to the point now that I just dont want the car any more style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />
  21. Well got my Beetle back after it being away for 11 or 12 weeks in total. Had various issues consisting of: Roof lining coming lose - roof replaced! Water ingress into boot - Not fixed yet general VW niggles - poor performance on TDI, squeaky seat, fuel gauge not working right, tape player chewed tapes, drivers window clunks on way down, windows rattle. General dealer issues - damage to paintwork, damage to alloy wheels, 1400 miles added while in their care, damage to chrome trims, new roof now dirty and uncleanable (so they tell me), glass to windowscreen, o/s and n/s scratched. The Roof when new they apply some water proofing - basically when it got wet the roof has brown and beige stripes where they applied it badly, instead of fixing this they tried to do something and now the roof has loads of black mucky patches, as well as the brown / beige stipey affair!!! And guess what - well VW uk are telling me there isnt much they can do as they dont manage the retailers. In fact despite telling me they would be in touch last Thursday I havent heard a thing, no courtessy call or anything, and I thought I had been dealing with customer care. Wayside Milton Keynes are saying: Roof: its beige what do you expect Windows: All the others we have do it - so it must be within tollerance. Window Scratchs: You might have done it cleaning them, even if they werent there before. Mileage: Course we didnt, you must have taken the readings wrong. I am just astounded by the total arrogance and incompetance of these places and the fact that VW uk dont appear to give a stuff about it. Have written to VWuk customer care manager and MD as well as wayside. The thing that annoys me most is the mileage - how can 1400 be reasonable.
  22. I sourced a set of A4 rear headrests for my Beetle - llok great because they curve around the seat and also sit quite low.
  23. Here is a couple of pics: B2 border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> Aerospace border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  24. I guess both apply style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
