  1. Less than 600 taxed How Many Left Q1 of 2018 - 598 apparently in use & 227 Sorn'd Dont know what the Jap imports are doing to the figures & the amount I still see being broken makes me wonder how accurate the figures are.
  2. Double ditto - my German isn't going to improve any time soon
  3. I got a copy of Elsa win. It is a bit painful to use, my excitement of getting to the Lupo GTI stuff was very quickly extinguished when all the info is in German! Hope yours isn't the same, that or you are very good reading German!

    Spacer help?!

Isn't it the distance from the top of the wheel to where you want the tyre to be away from the arch? I am just about to order some spacers from this ebay seller his stuff looks to be good value
  5. Cheers Yeah those Belgiums, renowned for not keeping their mind on their job, constanly thinking of chocolate! Are your doors are Alloy or steel?
  6. Any one else with a late 2005 GTI care to check their doors & glass?
  7. This just gets better and better!
  8. Well I have Pilkington in both doors & screen, but Sekurit in rear sides - going back to the OP's question, being one of the last to be made, could it have come like this off the production line with steel doors and fat glass?
  9. just found someone online saying 3mm is the GTI glass thickness - is that correct?
  10. Cheers Rich - Think I checked that before, just checked again with my much cheapness calipers the glass is 4.54mm on both doors
  11. Ibiza Cupra R brembo set up with 315 discs, must be the best OEM brake set up for 4x100 But Genuine Cupra R calipers are hard to find and expensive, discs are also pricey too. however Fiat, Alfa or Peugeot brembos calipers are the same piston sizes but need adaptors to work...and after that its having the wheels to go over them. I have a set of these off a Fiat Coupe in the garage: When I get some time I am looking to fit them to 280 discs under 15" superligeraas
  12. Mine is a UK 2005 GTI and has the B for Belgium in the chassis number -like yours it has steel doors, but everything else is Alloy as meant to be. The seller was adamant that they were aluminium, even claimed the paint shop confirmed this.....unless the paint shop swapped the doors! Other things I have noticed about my doors: Outside It is missing that weird mystery block of plastic 2 thirds of the way up the window next to the A pillar Inside the cover over the electric mirror is not body colour matched, not tornado red just black plastic. Lastly the window clips design is complete excrement, but that seems to be an issue we all share!
  13. I was told that some of the OMP bolt in cages were too big - so big you couldn't shut the doors!
  14. This. Shame I'm at the other end of the country & got nowhere to put it! - GLWS
  15. I was looking for front control arm bolts from TPS - apparently they are discontinued. Got a Febi kit for same price as 1 bolt from TPS!

  17. Was it a line for line re-enactment of the car scene in Parenthood?

    Carbon Lupo

Of all places they are on Amazon! Made by BlackStuff who I assume from their web address are Romanian, made out of 3mm Carbon £13 just took a couple of days to arrive
  19. Wood rim wheel is a brave choice. Never seen a 5 bolt wheel. The majority of aftermarket wheels tend to be 6 bolt. very likely you are going to struggle for a boss, probably brand specific or you will have to re-drill a 6 hole boss - but that is potentially weakening the boss.

    Red Tube

I believe its a legal requirement to carry one of those in Japan

    GTI Upgrades

Cheers Rich Got to cleaning the box - wasnt happy with investing so much for it to be crusty. Took 5 hours to go from: To: I used Alubreight to clean off the oxidisation and Jet Laq paintless lacquer finish - it dries to a satin finish, above was it just applied

    GTI Upgrades

Thanks Guys Huibs rebuilt: The slightly rusty drive flange was replaced only a few months before they broke the lupo up. Threadlocked stainless bolts hopefully wont weld themselves into the hub
  23. Those skateboard knobs are cool This is the Dreadnought web site - very similar
  24. Nice work fella - interested to see how you get on with the Brembo Max discs, was thinking of them myself to run with my Brembo calipers -thats if I can get them to fit under my rims Is that a Dreadnaught gear knob on a short shifter?
