just go to eurocar parts, stick in your number plate search for your parts and it should list the compatable parts for your car

Lupo clock LED display broken
Mobieus_uk replied to James_VW's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
there will be a soldered joint that is failing, look at the pins where the plugs connect to the instrument cluster, theres pictures in one of my thread showing what a failed soldered joint looks like, last cluster i repairs had 6 out of the 8 pins failing (was on a polo and was affecting the immobilser, working perfectly since repair) -
make sure you get the right version as powered steering and non powered steering are different lengths, ive got a lovely paperweight on my desk when a bought the wrong one as they are shorter they are cheap so do both sides, I was really anal when i did mine as i replaced the locking nuts, ran a die up and down the threads got it roughy right then had the tracking done knowing they wont have any problems as i had made sure everything was free and not siezed tight
-
a picture of what you have bought may help
-
sufferd from a worn ball joint on the wiper assembly, bought a repair clip from halfords and fitted perfectly, could have bought cheaper from ebay but couldnt be bothered to wait

Unable to hear file access restricted of somthingalong those lines First thing check the oil levels, when it goes low it starts to drag in air and makes the pumps noisey, if the levels are low then you have a leak My pump was noisy for 3 months before i bothered to look into it, found low oil levels, found leak, fixed leak and now the pump is fine and quiet again

you must have some of the wiring mixed up then, VW dont seem to follow conventional standard car wiring and on mine the permanent 12v feed and the igniton 12v feed had to be swapped

I had one made by pirtek, was pretty much a spot on replacment
-
just curious what the car insurance would be on a car that you built, a few companies panic when you swap the wheels, complete engine and drive train should give them a heart attack
-
no mot is normally a showstopper for everyone other than a breaker with a trailer, most breakers you would have to pay to have it taken away as the car is not complete
-
the duel colour are most likely speakers, to work out what goes where stick you multimeter onto ohms connect one wire to the multmeter and then just touch the other wire, one of the speakers should crackle thick red is most likely the permanent live, you just need to work out which of the other wires goes live with the igntion on, which will leave the last wire as ground its pretty easy with multimeter
-
