    80k Service

GSF are a nationwide parts specialist firm for cars of them countries.....I bet you knew that already though...haha It says in my service guide to change the oil every 10k miles. The service level indicator isn't flashing yet but it will be soon.

    80k Service

You could try German, Swedish and French for brakes? I'm sure there is an even cheaper online mail order company that do them real cheap....can't thin of their name though...DOH! Do our cars (1.4 S TDI) have a pump injector?

    80k Service

What oil does the 1.4 TDi Arosa need? Is it VW 505 00 or VW 505 01? It states diesel engines with a pump injector MUST USE VW 505 01. Mine is due for a change real soon. It says in the manual to change the oil filter every 100k miles....is that right? I wouldn't mind changing it now....as long as it's easy to get to. Cheers Steve
  4. Hi mate. I recently had a faulty reverse light. The guys above are right. Open the bonnet and you'll see where the gear linkage is on the gearbox. The sensor has two wires going from the gearbox to the linkage....the wire or wires have probably broken. Mine had......Mine was overstretched due to poor factory fitting. I slackened off the cable tidiers and stripped them back so the wires had much more flexibility in them. I was very lucky in that I got the extension lead out to my car and soldered the wire together. A competent mechanic should be able to do this for you for about £30-40 or so. Removing the battery will show you much clearer where the switching sensor is located and of course give you better access. Good luck mate. Steve
  5. I have a dark interior....the seat base's have the space invaders shape pattern. If I can find the code then it needs clearing then I'm better off taking it straight to the dealer I guess?????? it's due for a service in approx 900 miles time. (2-4 weeks use)
  6. Have seen that....what do i get to plug into it? lol
  7. Lol....ABS eh....wish I never had it.... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Dumb Q.....what do I do to check the VAG-COM? I'm used to Japanese cars and running a bent pin from one terminal to another to obtain codes. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Do you guys have passenger airbags? Thanks Steve
  8. Hi all, Hoping someone can assist me. Not sure what is happening but the last two days my Arosa has had the ABS light come on and bleep at me when going down a hill. It never does it otherwise. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="confused.gif" /> The pads have tonnes of wear left in them. I was wondering how I could find the cause of the problem. e.g. diags check on the computer (how do i do that?) Maybe the ABS sensor is loose? Any thoughts or suggestions welcome regards Steve

    Fuel tank Q

The owners manual advises a capacity of 34 litres and reserve tank 6 litres. Is it 34 or 40 litres in total? Working out my maths on mpg. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  10. The green one is quite funky I think....looks a bit like a Citroen C1 and a Yaris to me.
  11. Nice Doodling. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  12. Agreed. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
  13. Ahhh...I see. Doesn't seem very anti-theft to me. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" /> I'm sure that's what a thief would do anyway. Cheers for that. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
  14. Makes sense to me. Mind you...Sainsbury's offers aren't too bad. had a quick browse this morning but stuck to my guns and gave it a miss.
  15. The Rover V8 was used in the TVR 350i Those RS200's are amazing. I know a chap from the Celica GT4 owners club who has built a replica using the early Celica st165 shell...and it looks superb.
  16. Easter eggs are a rip off. I haven't bought an easter egg for anyone for years.
  17. I want to buy a shorter aerial for my Arosa. I can't seem to remove my existing one. It unscrews and then just turns without coming off. I don't want to be heavy handed incase I break something....it feels like a spring loaded resistance stopping it coming off. I know this may have been covered but a search didn't reveal too much other than you can get replacement aerials. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Ta Steve
  18. Cheers for that. Just read up on the Seat forum that nearly all diesel oil goes grey after a short time. Apparently the oil contains chemicals that breakdown grime around the rings...? Still. At least I know what to expect now. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shades:" border="0" alt="shades.gif" /> Steve
  19. Just checked my oil level. Spot on. Never had a diesel car before. The oil was last changed (according to the last service stamp in the book) 30th Jan at 65,221 miles. I'm now on 69k miles. The oil looked like a grey colour to me and it don't half pong... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> , it maybe just fine but I'm not sure being a diesel newbie. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> Cheers in advance. Steve
  20. I'm sure it will perform well....but it sure is hideous.
  21. Utter trash springs to mind.... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

  23. Had to have a giggle myself... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  24. My new car is 4.5 years old and it had approx 68700 on the clock on Saturday. Just about to get to 69k. Only just put my 2nd lot of £10 in diesel in it though. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />. Loving the mpg thang. Looking forward to many more happy miles. style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
