  1. rewire it, there isnt room for the the bulky connectors. Bullet connectors. Does horn sit in the hole properly without wires? tbh if the wires are factory issue, you probably just have to move the joints about a bit so they dont get in the way, there is likely a "sweet spot" where the wires and the horn push can sit together.

  4. When running on two these 3 pots are rough as a dog, mine did it when i got the fuel hoses the wrong way around 1st time i removed them, so a misfire is very very obvious. Injector loom is likely suspect as already said, vagcom should show faults.

  7. 195/50/15 is a more common and therefore cheaper tyre size, if your GTI isnt lowered much I'd be looking at them.
  8. I dont know much about those engines but would have checked piston to valve clearance to make sure they clear. Also compression ratio may have changed. Take plugs out and rotate, if it has tight spots take the cams off and rotate again, if the tight spots have now gone then it is valve train or piston to valve contact.

  10. Diff is for 02T according to quaife site, bolts for that should be M9x1.0mm ARP: 204-3001 VW: 02A 498 088 I'd check with a gauge or contact quaife and ask them though...
  11. With no pads in the way the caliper should move on those pins if you push and pull on it.
  12. Yes, there's a snail on your wishbone. You need to be in there prying for excess movement with a bar tbh, unless it is really shagged we cant tell much from pics. Edit: is that rubber dust all over your cv gaitor and suspension? Is that from tyre or inner arch or something else?
  13. What gearbox is it? Might be M10x1.25mm hard as **** bolts. ARP kit: 204-3002 VW kit: 02A 498 088 A if not then might be these: ARP kit: 204-3003 VW kit: 02M 498 088 M9x1.0mm
  14. Couldnt you fool the ecu just with resistors on the lambda? Dont know, only dealt with diesels for years now tbh.
  15. Depends on the year i think or maybe what they had in the parts bins at the time.
  16. 02T gearbox, big hex plugs on the diff housing, low one is drain (duh) under left drive shaft and filler is up near speedo plug opposite side.
  17. Yeah take it somewhere to get it checked out for free.
  18. Take in quick fit or ATS and ask them to check it over, they should spot anything obvious like knackered joints and bushes for you for nothing. Did they check the camber as well? Any odd tyre wear?
  19. it probably is just the actuators etc as they do get problematic on the 3l, but as the gearbox is basically an 085 box and your mileage is high it is well overdue for failure or a rebuild. The state of the oil might tell you something.
  20. I'd be draining the gearbox oil and looking at it for metal flakes, smell of burnt oil etc and then changing it asap unless you know it has been done recently. Your low mpg and gearbox issues could well be linked (increased drag in gearbox).
