  1. Ok, so. The Gti currently sits on my drive, untaxxed, uninsured and without a valid MOT. I am having some work done on it in stafford, which requires me moving the car up the country. Now, it needs to be at the place for 515pm on the friday night, and will be returned back to me at around 4pm the next day. How would you suggest i move it? Looked into renting a car transporter but you have to be over 25 to insure it, i have access to a trailor, but no car of which to tow it with. It needs to be relativly cheapy cheap as well. Thoughts? Dan.
  2. Yeah it will sit happily over a coat of black hole. Yellow? i would try either Rubbish Boys JE, Hard Candy or Orange Crush.
  3. 10 coats of a whole car, and thats a conservative estimation.
  4. Application technique mainly, hard designed to applied with a finger mitt, and the soft with fingers. You can apply every wax with both, but soft tend to clogg applicators and hard you have to scrape off and melt in the palm of your hand if trying to apply with your fingers.
  5. Not true. The core eight waxes will have about the same finish and durability, the texture (Hard vs Soft) has nothing to do with the durability. Op it depends how much you want to spend really. I will always recommend Supernatural, but being £60 a jar (for 200ml it is out of most peoples budget) Supernatural will suite any colour car, but it can be a bit harder to apply and buff off due to some of the ingredients used. My current favourate is Rubbish Boys Juiced Edition, gorgeous pineapple smell and it applys much like butter to the paint work. It gives a good deep gloss finish and with good maintenance it will give you 2 months of protection. This is James' Gti wearing a coat of Rubbish Boys JE, i had Lime Primed it before hand. BUT, 80% of what final finish you get is down to the prep, you can just slap a coat of Zymol Royale onto some paint work and it will give you a mirror finish, most of the shine (especially in James' case) comes from hours of machine polishing and refinement. Are you going to buy a big jar or just a little one? If you are going for a little one you need to bear in mind that you can get up to ten coats out of a 30ml panel pot. Maybe purchase one or two of them? If you decide to go with what Adrian suggested, it may be worth looking into the pro versions. In a nut shell its the core wax with an added shot of the polymer sealant that is found in Red Mist, taking the durability (again, with good maintenance) up to 3.5-4 months. Of course, there are always other waxes/sealants, i know 12 is a user of Swissvax BOS and John and James like a good bit of Zaino. Something like Megs 16 paste was is also very good for the money. Its all about what works best for you Hope this helps.

  8. Its a boot light dude, christ you've gone on about it like its missing a wheel. My Ka doesnt have one neither does my sisters Fiat Cinc.
  9. Stop bitching and moaning, you bought the car, no one else. If you wanted a perfect car you should have either bought brand new or bought a cleaner example.
  10. Do us all a favour and sell your GTI, you havnt stopped moaning about it since you bought it.
  11. They are available from the dealers for under £7, im sure dale (Lupoboz) can get them even cheaper.
  12. Thanks for the reply, thats not far off what i was expecting. Do you work in the trade, or is that just based off previous experience?
  13. Right, i understand spray work prices vary hugely across part of the country and in quality, but... Roughly what do we think it would cost to get the following work done: Lupo Gti Moon Silver Front bumper, both parts, brand new in primer Rear Bumper, brand new in primer Bonnet respray Both front wings repaired and repainted (have slight dents in one, and a deep scratch/gash in the other) I reckon about £600? but does that sound a like a bit of an underestimate?
  14. Drivers side mirror, would you sell separate?
  15. Granted, but its still not worth 50 million, its nearer 5 million, plus its now three years old.
  16. Seconded, the Elite, Autobrite and I4D lance is all the same hardware, just re branded, cant recommend it enough.
  17. I found that it really tightened up the rear end when i did a track day at RAF Marham!
