Lol! Don't say that Rob, I felt very mean driving off & leaving her! (Especially as I had to pass her on the way home in the Mazda...). I'm still gutted to have parted ways with the Loop, which is why I'm so keen to find out where she is now. Bloody loved that little car! I blubbed for a good half an hour after I sold her. I was very pleased to see her looking in better condition on the Autotrader add a couple of weeks after I'd sold though - fresh roof paint (to sort out the bubbly rusty roof paint), all the wheels refurbished, missing towing eye cover replaced etc. Just hope she's gone to a loving new home!

I sold my Lupo GTI in April this year and have been keeping an eye out on here for the new owner to turn up as well as keeping an eye out on the roads locally to see if it was sold to anyone around here and as yet, nothing. The car was on Autotrader about 3 weeks after I sold it, being advertised by the garage I sold it to but 2 weeks later, the car was no longer on Autotrader or their website, suggesting it'd been sold already... If anyone knows of it, or has seen it, please let me know! It's a 2001 X reg Black GTI, registration X259 ***

As funny as some of the jokes about these riots seem at first, the reality is that this is really happening, in our supposedly civilised country, at this very moment... and this is a very sobering & scary fact. They started rioting because someone got shot by the police, but now it's turned into a "woe is me, i've got nothing so I'm going to steal what I can and screw the rest of you" riot in which those who have nothing but are going out looting are winning no sympathy from the rest of the public by their actions and unfortunately, those innocent people who are honestly living off benefits and are not getting involved in the rioting will ultimately get tarred with the same brush simply because they claim benefits. Clever, eh? I really feel for my friends & family with children - what kind of a society are they forced to bring those innocent lives into? To the people involved in the riots, I quote the name of an anti-riot group on Facebook: "Smashing up your own city because you have the IQ of a ham sandwich".

Welcome. I'm from Southend, although I sold my Lupo a couple of months ago No local meets specifically for Club Lupo - we only tend to meet at bigger shows or if someone organises something specifically. There's a few VW events in & around Essex though - Club GTI have a monthly meet at the Dick Turpin on the A127, and there are fairly regular meets at the 8 Ball Diner on the A12 now (only started recently from what I can tell).

I've still got about 30 black stickers left so until a few more of those get shifted, I'm not planning on getting any more made up. I've found some of the old red stickers when I was emptying boxes at home, which I've put up in the stickers thread. Personally, I think it's time for a new design before I get some more made up anyway as they've been that style for a long while now...

Nope, not locked... but it has been moved to the drivers lounge as it doesn't appear to be motoring related... So far today I've done lots and lots of laundry - the downside of owning your own house.

You can indeed do what you like with it, however, if I don't like what you've done with it, I can change it. Just sayin...

I don't get why people put the same thing in both the title and the subtitle boxes when starting a new thread, or putting as above in the 2nd box. Just leave it blank if you've got nothing to add to the title?

Only got black ones left I'm afraid (and a few red ones I found when I cleared out a drawer at home). Have a look in Merchandising - Current Range. All the details are there about the black stickers. Will post up at the weekend what red stickers I've got.

Posts in restricted access subforums don't show up when you search for most recent posts unless you also have access to that subforum. Jamie, Ray, John & I have all posted within the last 24 hours in the Mods forum, let alone elsewhere. I visit about 5-6 times per day (although not as much this week as my Mum is in hospital) but my activity is set to private so you can't see whether i'm here or not. Same goes for Jamie & John. Just because we're not posting, doesn't mean we're not lurking... Oh & whenever MattyB turns up, he breaks the forum so it's probably best that he's not on all that regularly. (Love you really Matt!) Bossjohnc handed in his moderator notice a while ago, but Matt just hasn't bothered turning him back into a normal member. Same goes for Andi - he said he'd still pop by once in a while.

Got a quote with Sky Insurance last week - cheaper than anyone else. However, my current insurers offered to match the quote. Had it not been for the fact that I've got a lot on my plate at the moment, I would've moved (on the basis that if my current insurers could offer me that now, why couldn't they offer me that originally...) but to save the hassle of sending off proof of NCB & copies of my driving licence etc, I've renewed with my current insurers. Will definitely keep Sky Insurance in mind for next year though. (Big thank you to Alex @ Sky!)

Just to clear this up - the early GTIs were 5 speed, the later ones (mid 2002 onwards I believe - feel free to correct me though if I'm wrong on the date) were 6 speed. Mine was 5 speed.
