  1. Your post wasn't there when I began writing mine..
  2. I think most folk on here put "build" threads in the "Member's Cars" section.
  3. This is one of the nicest lupos I have ever seen, good effort mate. Gold wheels with the black is a stunning combo btw.
  4. If there was a tdi version released in the UK i'm surprised it wasn't a good seller compared to the petrols as it's super cheap to run. I am aware though that alot of people are put off diesels by the higher initial cost and higher fuel cost.
  5. Seems a strange reason not to import them, cost. I would of thought they'd be a very popular car as they're cheap and very economical. Probably is the case though that they weren't sold in this country. Through google searching I did find a thread from a forum in America that said they were never sold in America and only way to get one was an import.
  6. I like the darkened headlights and blacked mirrors, nice combo
  7. Those wheels will look tiiidy when on. Fitting them soon?
  8. Just been doing a little bit of research into fox's as I don't know alot about them, to see what engines are available. I'm currently on the lookout for a lupo tdi but thought I may as well take a look at the newer version..... What I have found is that there are far less engine variants and they are alot cheaper cos they've been stripped down with many items being optional extras (to keep initial price tag down). 1.2L petrol 1.4L petrol 1.4 tdi However I can't seem to find any fox tdi's for sale despite finding website's discussing them. Tried autotrader, gumtree, pistonheads and scot-ads..... Are fox tdi's uber rare or something? Or is wikipedia and other websites lying to me?
  9. As a standard car I think they look awful (mostly due to the high ride height). There was a guy on my local vw forum (EastsideVW) that had a really nice black one, lowered with black alloys, and front vw badge painted black as well as few other things. Amazing how much better a car can look with a few simple changes.
  10. Nice mate, what kinda coilovers you wanting to get? You said the car had just over 10k miles, do you not mean 100k? If it is 10k then £800 is an absolute steal!
  11. I do agree with what you're saying but I also stand by the post you replied to. For example when I first bought my vr6 I knew it had hell of a lot more power and torque than my last car (Yaris T Sport) so with this in mind I was very careful when I first started driving it and allowed myself to gradually get used to how the car pulled and how it handled etc before using the full power. Another person though could of thrashed it the instant they got in the car which makes them far more likely to have an accident. Again this puts us back to attitude. At the end of the day there are loads of different scenarios/situations for different people. Risk of theft/vandalism from fancy visual mods is an obvious one but risk of crashing at the end of the day all boils down to ATTITUDE.
  12. I will more than likely buy one of these once I buy my lupo! Very nice looking stickers.
  13. Skezza you talk a lot of sense, I agree that a big factor of insurance should be calculated by attitude, however this is very hard to measure. It's true certain mods spell out boy racer but there are plenty mods out there that careful drivers will add to their car yet they'll get screwed for them. Apparently it "shows what type of person you are". Yeah well the insurance companies don't look at certain types of modified cars (like they should) and think oh wait he/she has modified their car in this way which suggests they are someone with a brain who cares for and looks after their car so there is less risk of them crashing it/getting it stolen etc etc. As well as this, you can still thrash the hell out of a standard car and drive "low n slow" in your slammed dub or whatever. At the end of the day it's really friggin complicated and insurance companies are businesses that provide a service so the service they provide should be decided by them NOT some corrupt EU. There are different companies out there who aim their insurance services at different groups ie Diamond/Sheila's Wheels for females, Adrian Flux for modified hot hatches etc.......
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clsfTCszonAHow on earth do you post a video so it's not just a link but an embedded video player thing like everyone before me has! As you can see i've tried to edit this post loads of times to make it do that but it won't GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR http://youtu.be/clsfTCszonA YASSSSSSSSS FINALLY WORKED OUT HOW TO DO IT
  15. Me an ma m8s Abdy on ere got a saxo vtr or corsa fur sale lk?
  16. Clicked on this thread simply to find out who or what custard was.......what an awesome name for a yellow lupo haha
  17. Haha, for some reason this thread popped up in a google search "lupo tdi for sale"......
  18. To an extent yes I agree but what about the red light one. What if you're driving along and there's a green light for you to carry on going straight ahead. You carry on driving past the green light and BAM! Someone hits you from the side because they skipped the red light instead of stopping in front of it. How would better planning avoid that? Only thing I can think of is not go through green lights unless there are no cars waiting or approaching the junction. You'd spend the rest of your life waiting at the lights in the middle of rush hour.
  19. I agree with you guys but a couple of years ago I had an argument with a mate of mine about this. He reckoned that you can avoid accidents if you're an awesome driver. He still didn't change his mind when I gave examples such as: Someone going through a red light and hitting you. Someone changing lanes on motorway and hitting you. Someone coming towards you overtaking and not being back in their lane soon enough and many more. TOOL. Just made me think. What happens if your car is parked and you're not even in it and someone drives into your car? How do you be such an awesome driver you can avoid that?!?!
  20. Then some nice BBS's or similar.
  21. That blue one at the top looks tidy, black alloys go well, what happened to it? New motor will look nice when coils are fitted! Standard lupo ride height is hideous
  22. Haha the classic request for pics. Only got a handful on photobucket atm, been meaning to upload more for ages....... Parent's driveway Local meet, faint me's were an accident (my mate had a fancy camera) but thought they looked pretty cool. Parent's old driveway (moved house like 3 months ago)
  23. Nah i'm "based" in Aberdeen. To cut a long story short i'm training up in a job to eventually get into offshore rotational work and then will properly live back in Dundee. At the moment i'm living with my bro when I need to be in Aberdeen overnight and with the gf back in Dundee whenever i've time off/weekends or whatever. Personally I prefer Dundee over Aberdeen so can't wait to move back properly. Lived there for 4 years between moving out the parents house and starting new job last June.
  24. Nice, some Scottish folk! Dundee but work based in Aberdeen....you folk all on SVAG? Few nice lupos on there.
