  1. Bought this in January (the 13th, to be precise) Boggo spec 2.0 TFSI 200bhp FWD. Only option appears to be heated seats. Has the grey alcantara interior, which I prefer over the leather option. Had it remapped to about 245bhp. Transformed the car. Nice bit of poke behind it now. Anyway, a picture update of a car that looks the same in every photo. Stop off in Knaresborough on the way home from buying it. With the badges. With just the rings. All gone. Fitted some Xenon's that looked great and worked for a while, then threw up errors on the DIS and went off. Back to standards. Then bought some Ring Xenon-look bulbs but can't tell any difference. Drove to Holy Island. The tide was in. No causeway. Glad I was on this side. Yellow Lamin-X'd the foglights on the TT, my Dad's A6 and mate's Fabia. With the Caddy. Painted the tailpipes black. Went to the beach. Bought a spare grille and did it satin black. Fitted a pair of new number plates with sticky pads instead of horrible screws. Bought an RNSe. Fitted it and Cruise Control, with a tiny weenie bit of help from Jon 273... Eventually got round to painting the side grilles satin black to match the main grill, and fitted some 30mm H&R springs. And that's about it. It's obviously in desperate need of some wheels, but I've got other things to spend my money on at the moment. Hopefully will have some soon though. Then I'm done. Wouldn't mind a Multi Function Steering Wheel but always intended to keep the mods simple. Just wanted to keep it OEM. Very pleased with it though. Nice, fast, easy and comfortable to drive, pretty good on petrol, cruise control for long journeys, good stereo and satnav, handles well, big boot and looks smart.
  2. I couldn't resist and ended up taking it all to bits. As it stands now. Won some tyres on ebay last night with a white tread, so hopefully they'll look good. And fit... Need to clean up the seat and fit some new bartape, but I am tight and it's a budget project.
  3. Recently started to get into mountain biking a bit, so built a bike rack for the Caddy. Holds 5 bikes. Then got some raised topmounts from Coltech Classics and got the chassis notched. These two mods have improved the ride and comfort massively. It is way nicer to drive now. No constant scraping on the driveshafts and it has a bit of travel in the suspension. And I could go a lot lower if I wanted to. Mega pleased with them. Now I just need to get my arse in to gear and get a front bumper, fit a stereo and get something with a poke under the bonnet.
  4. Two options really. Take it off. Leave it on and let it wear away in the places that touch.
  5. There's a nice VW MFD satnav ready to go into a Lupo for sale in the classifieds section. A right smashing young chap is selling it...
  6. Don't they only come in 18" and 19", and five stud? You'll have to put a bit of legwork in though, post a photo of the wheel and a car at the right angles and you will have more chance of somebody doing it for you.
  7. Sure diesel turbos work in a different way to petrol, and lose power if you fit a dump valve.
  8. Yeah, it'll need to be cut to remove it, unless you take the rear beam off. If you buy a replacement exhaust from VW it comes in two sections, but the original one is a single piece.
  9. But you can work out how much closer they'll be than the standard wheels or other wheels that people know fit. I've had 7" et45 wheels on the back before, and they'll sit a bit closer than that. Of course it's an easy to solve problem if they do touch, just get some small spacers.
  10. There was that bloke from Nothing Leaves Stock who was trying to do it in bits so it wasn't classed as a car, but he ended up getting scammed by the guy on this side I think, who took his money and buggered off. Wasn't it the guy who bought the black mk5 Golf on cream Bentley wheels? I remember him being all over the forums at that point, which is probably why he was trusted to do it, then just disappeared. Remembered the Americans username, it's "josh@nls". Doing a search only brings up one post by him though, of him trying to sell the car. Dunno if a mod can find his other 48 posts he apparently has...
  11. They're relatively new regulations. When I spoke to them about getting one done he said they're not allowed to remove a standard cat any more. Drive there, then remove your exhaust in the car park before you give them it.
  12. Ask Sarah if she thinks red is a girly colour...
  13. Meh, I might paint mine. I'm growing quite fond of the axle stands though. Your centrecap stickers any good?
  14. Silver Bathursts look way better than black. They're just harder to keep clean!
  15. I think the way driving lessons work is flawed. The instructors can keep you on as long as they like and milk more money off you, mine said he wanted me to be well above test level so that I'd definitely pass. And they want to keep their pass rate high, regardless of how long it takes. I had 30-odd lessons i think, and passed second time 5 months after starting. Didn't drive another car. And there was a 3 month waiting list for practical tests then! Motorbike lessons are much better, you generally pay them a one-off sum and they'll teach you until you pass. The quicker you pass, the less work they have to do. I paid about £300 but passed within a week and a few lessons.
  16. It won't have been, mine hasn't moved for months! Haha. I think it might be calumuiop.
  17. I wasn't bothered about a helmet, but on our first mountain biking expedition my mate came off on a downhill track, smashed his face in and couldn't remember if he'd gotten out of bed that morning. And he had a helmet on. So I bought one.
  18. I don't need to ask, I know it! And I will constantly sing it while I'm riding. Just picked it up tonight, it seems good and fast. It's got a big headlight and dynamo on it. I'm gonna take that and the reflectors and other parephanelia off. I don't need safety aids.
  19. I'd be better of with a cream one to stand in the back of the caddy in my awesome bike rack I built! I think if I paint it it will either go all white or a retro green.
  20. I dunno. Will see what it's like when I pick it up.
  21. Everything you sell goes up in value. Everything you keep goes down. eBay number 110891817407
  22. Haha, I know. It's an old Falcon. Your bike looks very nice.
