I've got a set of these to fit, I notice you've trimmed them down near the rubber area, did you trim the lower bit too, as the drain hole cut out is in a different area ? Thanks

On my way to work this morning around 8.15am on the A610 near Eastwood roundabout, a Red Gti with black rear badge shot by me & gave me a flash of the hazards.. It was pressing on considering it was quite wet..

Wow ! I managed 351mile between fill ups of 37ltr in my GTI last week, seems quite poor compared

Has anybody used C&R Enterprises in Nottingham for work ? To quote their website "C&R are the Nottingham based Volkswagen, Audi, Seat and Skoda specialists. Established in 1988 by Steve Cresswell and John Russell, they are now considered to be one of the foremost names in the UK for VW, Audi, Seat and Skoda. When Steve is not managing the busy workshops he some how finds the time to be technical guru to Golf + magazine and offers advice as "Crasher" through daily posts on the VW Audi forum." http://www.candrenterprises.co.uk/ Thanks

I used to use Nightbreakers in my old company cars & they lasted quite well, over a year & I was doing 35k +, so plenty of night driving going on. If you want to loose the "yellow" look, change the side light bulbs too, so its a bit more matching. I have some PIAA in my gti to match the OEM hid's, pretty close matching for a side light http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PIAA-PLATINUM-5w-SIDE-BULBS-VOLKSWAGEN-LUPO-GTI-1-4-16V-/310348182370?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4842317362

You should speak with Luopboz, he's a main dealer & he quoted me way less than that, from his recent PM Driveshafts £165.00 each (£235.09 retail, each!!)** Outer Driveshaft Joints £95.00 each (£128.82 retail each!)

I recently change the tyres on my GTI to good year Eagle F1's all round & added 10% to the mpg, she's now getting 310mile before hitting red,
-
IIRC it was fairly standard, just with red trim around the grill I've seen it before on Bardon road fuel station Me, I'm near the rock
-
Sorry, wrong thread
-
Saw it leaving the carpark sat morning (1st oct) I wasn't driving my gti, so no interaction from the driver. I'm sure he's a local.

Or fit a nice aero wiper from the polo/mk5 golf
-
My GTI does this, so your doing about 60mph when it kicks in ?? I was told it might be a drive shaft, due if you back off the power it stops?? Time to check to leads & plugs

Thanks,

I want to replace to side light bulbs on my GTI with some PIAA 'whiter' ones to match the dipped beam & can't work out how to get the sidelight bulbs out ? Any tips ? Thanks

Advised mileage/age for timing belt change
Jace_b replied to mccrindle's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
Is that the same for the GTI ?? -
I'm just about to fit 4 Goodyear eagle F1's to mine, £320 but well worth every penny from past experience. I'd have fitted Asymetricals but they go down to 15"
-
195/45 15 is the size most are fitting.
-
I just filled up tonight, from previously brimbed & got 280mile before it hit red. put 38litres in, or £50 worth in old numbers

Anybody running these on their car ? I found a thread about them on a van, but thats not really the same... I see they are big in the drifting world, but whilst looking for new rubber to suit the Lupo I was suggest to try their tyres.. The tyre suggested looks similar to an Goodyear Eagle F1, BUT is £63 a corner, not £90 like the F1 http://www.maxxis.co.uk/tyre-details/t66-maz1-victra
