  1. its worth taking the rocker cover off and checking your lifters and cam aren't screwed too. if they are rooned just get a cam of a low mileage Polo at there stomping ground (the scrap yard) and a new set of lifters, which just slot in an out and it should be much quieter.
  2. assuming he brimmed it with 40L of diesel then 51mpg. not bad, a much more sensible MPG figure compared to people claiming 100mpg in a 1.4tdi lupo after a remap ....
  3. cheaper than the lupo? mine was £200 cheaper
  4. keep the fire extinguisher for the golf. serious.
  5. all you need now is some new bumpstops! i do like this, it may be standard etc, but the way its all been given some proper TLC makes me feel warm inside.
  6. the one with extra cylinders? i have no problem with this.
  7. Club Lupo, MK2 society!
  8. it looks pretty clean tbf, replace the aftermarket with OE and your onto a winner!
  9. goody. checked for rust? reach up into where the bonnet hinges are and check its all good. check where the seat runners are and just behind them in the passenger section is not crispy. pull back the rear turret carpet etc check for nastiness there. and underneath there should be lines of bungs on the inner sill, make sure those bung holes are SOLID. also if there's like mushroom/doughnut things at the front put your fingers in there and check they are not rusty. sounds thorough but that's not far of the mileage of mine so could hide some naughty. i just had a walk around mine on the ramps, no touchy, as it all looked good.. slathered with underseal.. not bad though, looks tidy
  10. i might go for a day, not sure yet though
  11. we had an Audi A2 engine rig in college, same as polo, lupo 1.4 engine, and it had a hydro clutch http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A2-1-4L-16V-PETROL-5-SPEED-MANUAL-GEARBOX-CODE-GD-TL-023-52300MILEAGE-/330970681980?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3AAudi%7CModel%3AA2%7CCars+Type%3A1.4&hash=item4d0f63d27c im guessing it wont fit as you said nothing will .. i dont know?
  12. im pretty sure you will need to sort out engine mount, its not a straight fit but is possible.
  13. guy not interested in a swap koop?
  14. steel rule and a Stanley knife would work but would take time!
  15. interesting. indeed
  16. specs on the MK2?
  17. sorry dude, that's not GTI interior, just dark grey regular ones..
  18. I just hacked away at my power flow system, but that's just me, and im sure it wasn't worth much
  19. if you want more clearance on the subs, the seats on the rear have two back rest positions, the clips by the seat belts have two notches on them (the ones you pull back to release the seat) dont mean to tell grandma how to suck eggs, just incase you dident know
  20. maybe you should contact them like the OP, im sure they are not produced in the first place due to lack of interest, but if you get some buyers on here i don't see why they wont make them.
