  1. I saw this at Tesco on Tuesday night, parked the furthest possible distance from the store and still across two bays ;-) Nice little car.
  2. What do you mean you don't have normal space to do so? I'd switch a relay using the interior light circuit or the microswitches in the door probably to power them.
  3. That's exactly what I meant, summarised perfectly!
  4. At the weekend I noticed that in one location, and one location only there's a clicking that can be felt through the steering wheel when turning it. Doesn't matter whether left or right, it's the same place each time. Jacked the car up and inspected, placed hand on each individual suspension component, driveshafts and steering rack till I could feel it. My initial suspicion was a bad cv joint but the click isn't really there at speed, just when turning at low speeds. The car still drives perfectly with no issues at all and nothing at all can be felt on either shaft when it can be felt on the steering wheel. it felt most prominent at the top of the steering rack where it meets the knuckle joint at the bottom of the column. I'm not too sure what to suspect as the problem, and before I try a new rack I thought I'd get some ideas?
  5. It could be that the throttle body is sucking in air when you accelerate, sounds like new engine time...
  6. Didn't think the interior light was on the dimmer circuit though?
  7. OP has an arosa if profile is to be believed.

    GTI Upgrades

Interested to see how you get on with the quaife.
  9. I can see where you're both coming from to be fair. Auto lights + remote central locking to make the leaving home function work would be the neatest solution imo.
  10. I still can't see how getting your phone out whilst driving to turn your headlights on would be useful. And if you're not in the car it's equally as pointless. Still, I'd love to be able to annoy my friends turning their lights on and off from the back seat.
  11. A couple of years ago when I had a mk7 golf gti, I gt the park assist on it mainly just as a cool feature to mess about with and show my friends. It was surprisingly handy in some situations where it would have taken more than one attempt to squeeze into a parallel space. It definitely wasn't a case of not paying attention, just that it helps life. The Arteon I have now has lane assist, adaptive cruise control, auto wipers and auto lights, I get where you're coming from as you can go a very long journey with minimal driver input, but I think this is more of a driver behaviour problem than the technology itself. But whilst we're ranting. WHY does everything have to have an app? What benefits could an app for your headlight switch possibly add?
  12. I'll message you with a link to them later!
  13. The class generally depends on the event we enter. It's either up to 1400cc or 1001cc-1400cc generally! Do you mean like there's not many modifications to the appearance of the car?
  14. For anyone on Instagram, I post much more regular updates there. @cwoodsrally
  15. Not sure. Think that one was a disagreement with a water barrel! it happens! Yeah the straps work much better than those weird push in things that VW do, that never seem to work...
  16. What discs are they ? (Front)
  17. Welcome, it would be good to have a read through members cars and really explore topics on the site. It's a real wealth of information that really gets overlooked. There are so many mods that it's kind of difficult to summarise them. Nevertheless, some common ones seem to be: Cambridge Rear Lights OEM Mudflaps Rear wiper delete Front fog light retrofit Aero wipers Silver indicator bulbs GTI Steering wheel / Alternative Painting the interior removable pieces Different seats Lowering (Even if just springs) Wheels Painting/wrapping roof black was popular at one point Painting the insides of the VW emblems Rear pop-out windows Smoothing bumper(s) (subjective this really) I'm not bothering with costs because it's subjective and with a bit of time / patience you can get most of the above for peanuts. Start a members car thread and add some pictures. Lets go from there.
  18. What about for out and out track use?
  19. Yes, 6 posts and all of them mention ultimate styling.
  20. Ahh okay, that makes sense now. I thought it meant a map for an engine that already had the EGR delete. Thanks for clarifying. Waiting for lead to arrive then I'll be trying the map out! Still have the file and want to make a return on your purchase @wehey?
  21. Sounds good anyway. Going to give this a go. Only seems to be one listed for an EGR delete engine on Blacksmoke. This won't make much difference surely?
  22. What price do you have in mind?
  23. Like this? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F162935141101
  24. For what the cars used for I don't particularly want to spend more than is necessary on it for now leading to the generic route. Not the best I know, but an improvement nonetheless! Ard?
