  1. Hi pal, I tried to fit my powerflex bushes but they were too small, ended up using standard ones, Need to speak to al at awsome as they were getting some specially made. Regards Angelo
  2. Speaking from experience, £80 per month will not cover you for any problems with a house, Pm me if you want a true cost of working on a house and the costs of running one. (I price renovations / conversions as part of my job) Comuting every day on a moped will be a chore, I used to ride my bike to work (600cc) during summer, would not go out when it was wet as its difficult at the best of time to be seen by other road users. You will also need to by the proper gear, good boots, good lid (it's your head!) good jacket and I would recommend a few lessons as well as your observation skills need to be spot on. Also please be aware if you have had a long day at work, it's dark and raining, your putting on gear still wet from the morning and you have a 15 mile ride home, it will Not be a fun time. It comes accross as a negative post, but it's not ment be, the offer of advice is genuine pal Regards Angelo
  3. I'll take a pair of side lights as well pal
  4. I'll have to check, the first set I got didn't fit
  5. The two things I would do if I was doing it again would be to change the manifold for a 4-1 and sort out a decent bracket for the exhaust to stop it sagging.
  6. What's your budget? is it cat back or from the manifold Are you changing the cat or keeping the standard one My cat was ****ed so a new 100 cell cat was Put in while the exhaust was made. Mine was done at pipeworx, two inch system with almost the same tailpipes as standard, £700.00 including fitting for a ss system including the cat. Sounds good, not boomy and looks nice. Revs more freely doubt there is a hp gain on its own. Will be fitting a manifold probably the Ashley one when I get time. There has been a few threads on here already, I only changed mine because it was fubard. Angelo
  7. Just something for a change and a night away somewhere different. Plus no misses dragging me out of bed in the morning to go food shopping!
  8. Pretty much everyone on here is nice, loads of usefull info as well. Welcome to the clan
  9. Since I lowered mine, I wont attempt driving up kerbs, it can catch the front bumper going down the small access ramp at work. I have about 35mm between the tyre and arch. The only downside I have found since fitting is at 70 to 75 it can get a bit bouncy, above or below that speed its fine. Regards Angelo
  10. After a bit of help, Have a last min stag do to organise for this saturday. Hotel is booked just looking for some suitable venues for the evening. The group is aged from 26 to 34, only going to be 10 to 12 of us in total. Already had the big stag do this is just a sneaky excuse for a night on the lash, We are travelling down from manchester in the morning, arriving early afternoon. Any ideas on places to go, places to avoid would be appreciated Kind regards Angelo
  11. I've had an open pipercross kit, sounded good bit doubt there was any gain, I have a pipercross viper carbon now, again sounds good, still finishing the hard pipe cold air feed for it. I doubt you would feel any difference in performance with an induction kit on its own, it will sound much better though. You really need a dedicated cold air feed so hot air is drawn in from the engine bay, there a few threads with pictures on here.
  12. All depends on use and budget, I have just bought brembo maxi disks front and rear, standard brembo pads for the rear and goodrich stainless steel braided lines, On the front pads a cant decide if ferredo ds2500 are overkill for the car as they are £130 ish, padgid Blue pads are £160 ish or just go for a set of good quality standard pads for £30-£40 I have run a g60 set up for 60,000 miles, there is less brake fade over standard with them.
  13. There are a few threads on here showing results of modifications. There was a rolling road day at awsome, the graphs showing results with what mods each car had are in the topic. Any mods to improve power will cost a lot for very little gain. There are a few arguments for and against decats, personaly I have a high flow cat and custom ss exhaust as I did not want the hassle of changing it out for mot's. Most people fit bmc carbon inductions, I have a piper viper carbon kit as it was a good price at the time, it still needs a hard pipe cold air feed to finish it properly These mods combined may be worth 5 to 10 bhp max hardly noticiable for the cost almost £1000.00 With a decent manifold £200-£300 combined with a decent exhaust will see 10-15 bhp, at this point a remap will be worthwhile as it will optimise the mods. Some old school head work porting and polishing will probably net a further 10 to 15bhp on top but when I priced the it was circa £800 plus vat without labour for removing etc. The most benificial mods you will make will always be the handling, I have a topic on suspension with prices on another thread. These cars will not yield any massive increases in power unless you spend money on them, 20 bhp increase over stock will likely cost £1500 Again all of this is in my own opinion based on my own experiance, I have a spreadsheet of my costs for my car including upgrades over the hundred and ten thousand miles I have covered in it. If you want a copy pm me and I'll send it over. Regards Angelo Ps with a £300.00 budget a would purchase a rear arb from awsome £130 and put the money left over aside for a comprehensive service.
  14. Anyone used Ferodo DS2500 Pads? Struggling to find anywhere with Pagid RS pads available. Have everything i need except the front pads! Regards Angelo
  15. Go and have a good look at it, If you have a frendly mechanic get it up on a ramp and have a good look around. If your happy then do it if not then dont, value wise i dont think there is much in it try and get him to throw some cash your way and your onto a winner Angelo
  16. Weight wise, there is nothing in it, going to have a look at using a 25mm x 40mm box section for the main part with the circular hollow section retained for the connection, this will reduce the protrusion under the car by 15mm. I might even have some stainless steel in this size, going to have a play over the weekend.
  17. Will do, probably be tomorrow,
  18. Not sure if this is the right place to post this, I purchased a used lower strut brace which arrived today (thanks james) I am going to make a new one to the same design out of heavier gauge material as its a bit flimsy, The finsh will either be galvanised or zinc coat as it will be exposed to the elements I might powder coat for finish Its probably going to cost me with materials, time and then finsh approx £50 - £70 If anyone wants one or if there is enough interest ill make a few more at the same time. This is not for profit Mods if Im breaking any rules please delete Pictures: Kind Regards Angelo
  19. I took the driver side engine mount off, it's tight but doable took about an hour from start to finish. Pm me and I'll send you my number if you want to talk it through. I had mine refurbed locally pick it up tomorrow. You will need a hand with the tensioner belt as its a bit tricky
  20. Hi pal, de glazed the disks before fitting, squealed like a pig on a honeymoon in the dry! Also found exsesive brake dust. Thanks for the replies, Angelo
  21. Mine went in me on Tuesday, Iuckly I had one on my spare engine, have my original refurbed for £60.00. Sounds like the alternator as mine did exactly the same as yours. Are you going to change it yourself? It's pretty straight forward.
