welcome, you made the right choice!

Buy some bogo standard rms. Run them for abit, they'll look sweet and they came as an optional extra so insurance will be cheaper then save for paint and dishes for them, anything you do to them will add value. Investment Saying that, mine are now worth double what I paid, but I spent even more than that to get them where they are. So as a rule of thumb, they'll be worth like 800ish with some new dishes etc so try not to spend more than that! Can pick up a standard set from Germany eBay for around the 500 mark!

And i do have some doubt also as to how different coilovers are from each other when they list them for 1.0, sport, tdi, gti etc. Do they really go out of their way to change the product for the sake of say 30kgs kerb weight. (this is probably the case with brands like TA technix, i doubt their gti and non gti coil overs are different at all)

There are many differences between the gti chassis and the non gti. Subframe for one. The suspension mounts are all the same though

You can buy the knobs on their own, you buy the whole metal part with the knob attached from vw, between £10-£15 iirc
