  1. Fair point. The reason I put this suggestion up as Vw does not have any records of what cars they had. Hence the idea.
  2. Ok. To round this story off. Basically the reason I bought the Volvo was the car I wanted was not available at the time (god damn Vw), ideally what I would of liked to have done is traded in the 1.0 lupo in for this car but that was not possible due to reliability issues, so I subsquently sold it, it was on the road for a year 1/2 after I sold it then scrapped by the end 2016 (Sad times, I do miss that car in some respects). But the Car I wanted came available this year. I ordered it in February and got it by Mid June (pretty good considering some people have waited since Feb and have not got a car). Here it is. I don't think I need to say anymore. Its been quite a year for me in a lot of respects. I still have the Lupo Gti too.
  3. Hi all So I had a thought regarding the press car thread. So this is where I am at. Vw don't keep any records on a system which shows what cars where press cars. My Vw Lupo list is the closest that exists to this as we speak. I now get people contact me directly (so far one) about whether there car is a press car. Without the community I would of missed out a few press cars/important details. So this where I want to go. Create a Wikia for this. This would expand the scope for this and would create quite a good easy to use DB for where to find Vw Press cars. Current status of any that survive etc. However I would need a massive amount of help to do this as it would take years. And certain costs would be involved. (eg Buying Magazines for their articles etc). Thoughts can written below. A poll has been put up to gauge the idea.
  4. Just added another one to L6upo thread. A Blue TDI. Also added a Way better picture of the Silver Lupo Gti L4upo
  5. I have not been recently. I don't know what they have in stock. They had normal lupos in the past. Need to pay a visit. They are not online.
  6. One of the ones near me I have seen in the past does do body cuts. I have not been recently. I will go at some point in the near future.
  7. Two more added X42NFC and W303WDB (Ex ABT Car)
  8. Basically what you have already mentioned, Sunroof, Leather, Aircon, Side airbags are all rare. Import cars don't have most of these options. Rarest colour is laser blue (about 4/5 in the country). Raven blue is uncommon. Less than 80 ever came here. Antharcite is also a rare colour. Or you could consider this one. Its a bit special.... 9. Update time. Y937DWL is up for sale. On ebay for £2750. It bit of a bargain considering its history. Has the wrong back box tough (a scorpion). It does have aircon fitted. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-Lupo-GTI/283275382096?hash=item41f4874d50:g:56wAAOSwabRb-S~z:rk:8:pf:0
  10. 205/45/r15 are the standard size for the Lupo Gti. However we only get two choices (in the UK) which are both summer tyres. So yes possible but don't. https://www.oponeo.co.uk/tyres/205-45-r15
  11. Interesting. I did get a spare headunit with the 6 cd changer. But I don't have the code for this. A visit to vw maybe required.
  12. Hi So I have not had a lot of luck with these. The first one I bought did not work. 2nd one has a bit of a strange issue. It powers up fine, it loads and ejects fine. However when trying to operate it from the radio. It comes up with the error "No Cd changer" even thoughts its plugged in. Any ideas what could cause tis and any fix would be appreciated.
  13. Nope. Defiantly not. Not Oxford registered for a kick off. I knew one of the previous owners of this car.
  14. T62DBW is up for sale. This time on facebook but now fixed.

    Help Me!

Good to see its up ad running still. It was me who created the press car thread.
  18. I bought a refurb set of those for way less. But I am not surprised at the prices considering.
  19. Ok. I spotted on facebook the other day. A few days ago it looked like vw heritage is now stocking parts but I cannot find them anymore on there website (unless you want the aero wiper kit out of stock) There is three pages of parts but not everything. Here is the german site. It does mean you can order Cambridge badge and gearknob to convert your se to full Cambridge spec. Link below. https://www.volkswagen-classic-parts.de/en/
  20. No probs These sets are from early Lupo and they only did this for a couple years before they withdrew them and went to gti seats with leather/colour concept leather
  21. I had a similar set. The only difference between yours and mine is mine had the side airbags. I would say between £250 to £300 I sold mine for around that but mine had cigarette burns on the rear seats
  22. A little bit of a thread update. The new re-search tool I am using turned up some information about one of the press cars that went off the road back in 2009. Its scrapped. Which possibly makes it the first one to be scrapped? Anyway. Still the search must continue
  23. Edit. I found a alternative for free. So the poll is irrelevant for now
  24. Hi all So the press car thread. I thought I'd put this out there to gauge interest. Now the title sounds a little odd but bear with. For a while I was able to carry out a check on a car for free which gave me the information I needed to discover where a car was a press car. Now with a normal reg (t62dbw As a example) we know this is a press car as it featured in magazines with no private plate. However with l4upo plate as an example it is a lot more complicated and it can be pot luck if we find the right plate. A good example of this is t35dwl. I had a suspicion it was a press car but it had a plate change. The reason how i found this car was a press car was because i remembered who owned the car now and it new plate which gave me what I needed to know. (At the time) So for a while I have saved pictures of several cars I suspect could be press cars. But cannot confirm if this is the case. With the search I was using it would give dates when private plates where changed. However the charge for this now is £14.99 for one car or £20 for three cars (full check) So this is where the above question comes in. Would there be interest in funding the thread? Or a alternative to the above which is cheaper or even free?
