  1. ive got it matty forget the monaro get a maloo! you could carry your trackday lupo in the back. just need someone to photoshop one in the back to win you over.
  2. im sure like most things it will depend on the quality of the job. some wheels come diamond cut from the manufacturer and are prone to water ingress then look rubbish but probably the same with polished if the have been lacquered after polish. my work sent a jeep wheel to be diamond cut and repainted to a place called prestige wheels i think, it was an amazing job. but they but alot more lacquer on than standard. wasnt bad money either about 60 quid all in picked up and delivered for one wheel. less the more wheels you send.
  3. how about some b&q's green giant? could make some nice 3 or 4 spoke wooden ones.
  4. considered or been in a vauxhall monaro? should be useable and fun. and bit different, was one with 635hp less than 25k miles for 18 grand on pistonheads.
  5. i still think roof chop is the way. nice and low or slanted down at the back to make a coupe lupo.
  6. the pedal shouldnt give you any sort of pushing back unless the abs is cutting in. from what your describing i would agree youve got a problem with a pick up ring or sensor. its giving a signal saying a wheel is locking up when its not and the abs is working when it shouldnt. vagcom should fault it or it may need an oscilloscope reading on all sensors to check the wave forms and see which is not right.
  7. noble. or cerbera rip out the tvr stuff and put something good in like an audi v8 and drivetrain. or how about a project ultimaMy link
  8. first time ive wanted to stick something in elmos face other than my fist.
  9. is your alternator packing in? or battery not holding charge correctly? with your stereo cranked up it may be draining the electrics and starving the ecu of power. worth a look mate.
  10. glad to hear you got it done for nowt.
  11. the gaps are right on the plugs?
  12. caspers right stop driving it. if that snaps youll have a bill that will bring tears to you eyes rather than the cost of belt being replaced. definately looks like theres a bearing going on an idler or tensioner or worse a bolts coming undone somewhere. get a new belt kit with new idler and tensioner and have a good check round when its stripped to make sure there isnt anything else causing the problem. if the waterpumps driven the cambelt id do that at the same time.
  13. does it have a joint near the rear axel with a threaded u shaped clamp? sometimes the position they are put means they hit the axel and when you lift it on a ramp you cant tell. normally you can slacken it off and change its position. could be that. or is it a cheap system that has been fitted? sometimes they dont quite route right and touch things. sometimes have to heat them up and bend them.
  14. i have heard that removing the battery terminals doesnt always work, but if you remove them from the battery and touch postive and negative wiring together and hold it a little while this fully drains the full system of any electricity anywhere and will reset the ecu. i dont understand why but thats what i heard off a mate.
  15. love that. great when you see it wobbling like mad at end cause the axels bent.
  16. id back you up with hull i was born there what a sh*t hole. turkey was a horrible sleazy dreadful place. malia on crete was good one time then a bit scary another time. me and a mate were walking to the hotel hammered and 3 greek blokes were trying to grope an english lass and wouldnt let go of her, so we got involved and gave a couple a bit of a seeing to. the other ran off next thing about 10 chased us back to the hotel. they were out side waving guns about. turned out wed beaten up a couple of local gang members. got relocated to hersonisos because the rep thought we were going to get killed. exciting but a bit scary, least the lass got away.
  17. its probably worth putting a fuel additive in your tank to clean your injection system aswell. do you use supermarket fuel? if so id recommend putting some decent fuel in, may improve it aswell.
  18. they normally have a big plastic threaded ring that can be a bit awkward to get to started to undo.
  19. what you will probably find is that the tyres are castleated/stepped, happens on quite alot of 4x4s and some 2wds. freelanders used to be a nightmare for it. run your hand around the tyre and you will find its stepped, this gives a very similar noise to a wheel bearing.
  20. i helped build a r1 bike engined caterham style kitcar, did 0-60 in 3.3 secs. that was impressive enough! god knows what that caterham would be like. love the front wing on it, my mate would of wanted one of them on his.
  21. with it not making a noise when your stationary i would guess your heading towards an internal gearbox bearing problem, possibly a shaft end/support bearing. if you could hear it stationary when you pressed and released the clutch pedal more likely to be clutch release bearing. is there definately oil in the gearbox? bit hard to say exactly what it is without hearing it though.
  22. it doesnt when my boss had just spent a few months rebuilding it after a front end smash and i thought the back end was next. hahahah
  23. i took the one i use to work on out in the rain because i needed to roadtest it. couldnt keep it straight i was petrified.
