Random misfire and Engine check light always on
Mike_M replied to chrisnicol's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
Misfire usually related to the coil pack, of which last about 5 years and is a common issue. I had this on my GTI and once changed it cme back to life the engine. I also changed the leads and spark plugs after that for good measure. -
Dont cut the rear film as the tint shrinks over time and the lines appear. Done many side windows in my time and it requires patience and some practice but always get the rear window done by a pro due to the multiple curves in the glass They can do it in one piece with no joins and it looks great.........usually get charged £40 for the rear, but it is worth it

Car level. Measure before (centre of wheel to arch lip) and then measure after the same way to get an accurate reading for your car.

You can get the blue tint mirrors for the lupo off ebay
-
Check your fuses also

It is quite durable stuff the 3M dinoc film and quick to finish. To put back together simply put the trim back on the door and use a rivet gun to reattach it........replacing the 2 you previously drilled out to get it off. -

B pillar trims? If so put window down, pull out side rubber and drill out the 2 rivets.......trim then pops off. Did this to mine to trim mine up -

Mike_M replied to blister's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
Usual stuff really. Take a friend as a second set of eyes are always good to have -
It's been on the cards a while to be honest as use the mk5 golf more since my son was born. Been interested in the Audi A4 as my next step
-
Thanks. Latest addition is a Recaro seat BUT for my son to use. It is quite a good match to the Recaro trim I have already and would not have anything else in the GTI LOL Otherwise nothing much else new and floating with moving it on to get an A4
-
Yes did it years ago and still functioning fine.....others have followed too. You have to be very specific on the part number you use which are getting rarer by the day to be honest. Use the search tool or Google with clublupo as a ref as it looks further into the past

Looking good mate

The rear ARB will keep the car more flat in bends. Otherwise it is a case of uprating dampers if you are going to do it properly.
-
Rear arb will help too.

Warped discs for sure. Do you keep your foot on the brakes when at lights a lot etc as this creates cool spots like a heat sink where the pas touch and warps discs the more you do it......but more so on solid ones Always use the hand brake!
