Interior bits are looking brilliant. Where did you get your 3m vynal from - there's so much crap quality stuff around. Hope all goes well with the brakes, great looking upgrade! Patrick
-
Yeah ive done the flat parts like that was just checking there isn't an easier method. It's such a pain. Sprayed a lot of my interior myself just make sure when you laquer it all spray it on really sparingly (if your going for a gloss finish) - made such a difference on my stuff! Thanks Patrick

Looks good mate, how did you get the rubber off the interior handles - is there any easy way? Patrick

New coolant temp sensor fitted today (and a replacement retaining clip after I broke it), will fill her up tomorrow and see how far I get. Maybe a mental thing but it does feel like it's running smoother. Also note to anyone changing the temp sensor - just buy the 50p retaining clip aswell as it's a pain in the arse when it breaks! Full beam and numberplate lights?
Tricky88 replied to Kent's topic in Car Care, Maintenance and Mechanical
I got some White number plate ones from eBay also called festoon or interior bulbs I think, sorry no link but there's loads on there. Patrick -
Thinking about it - I saw it last week with a piece of paper in the back window so may well have been for sale. Could be a new owner

I'm sure I see him every night in Dartford - if not one very similar. Patrick

Changed the plugs not long ago with a full service. 260-70 miles to 40 litres is around the same as my 170-80 to 26 litres I think so my original economy doesn't seem soo bad?!? Are you pressing the secret button to get 40 litres or could my breather be blocked like Casper said - Although this wouldn't explain the sudden drop. Temperature sensor is most likely and cheapest option at mo so will see what that does. Patrick

Right just back, vagcom showed no faults only strange thing was the temperature (outside) was showing a's 40.5 yet the dash showed 6!!! The car may be running to suit this high temp when its not i guess so going to change the temp sender and see how it goes. Patrick

I know the button well

Just filled up with super, was near the red and got 26 litres in with some clicking. Last tank again just got 140 miles. Off to a friend tomorrow who's a vag specialist so hopefully shed some light and will let you know. Thanks for responses Patrick
-
I'll check the next time I fill up but from (approx) just before the empty light it always takes around £32-35 of super will find out in litres. Is that how much it costs others to fill their gti's? Thanks, Patrick
-
Yeah I do a few short journeys during the week and usually a good long run at the weekend. I did think 170 was low for a gti but apart from the winter I can't think of any reason for it to drop. Patrick
-
Yeah I hear all different miles from gti owners, regularly Serviced and checked with vag com last service so not sure tbh. Anyone have any similar issues, you may be right with the cold weather

Hi, I've recently noticed my last couple of tanks (full to click with optimax) have got me a lot less miles than normal. I have always got no matter how I drive about 170 (small trips) to a tank but now I'm getting around 140 all of a sudden. I had a similar problem on my 4motion and think it was the temp sender, could this be a possibility even though my gauge is working perfectly at the mo? Thanks, Patrick

Just put the whiteline rear arb from awesome on my gti, the difference is amazing. Worth every penny! Patrick

What wheels are they? Looking good! Patrick

Hi, Im STILL having a bit of a nightmare with wiring the kufatec loom I got for my standard Lupo heated leathers. I've been using this link - http://uk-mkivs.net/forums/p/160721/1058376.aspx for mk4 golfs but just need to where to connect the 2x power on the Lupo. Any help would be much appreciated as winters here and my arse is getting cold! (even if you haven't fitted this yourself but know a bit about the lupos wiring) Thanks, Patrick

Volksapart AKA Volkswagenspares.com still trading??
Tricky88 replied to Richiep's topic in Volkswagen Lupo
Is there one in sidcup/footscray. If that's the one it burnt down unfortunately. Patrick -
I'm 22, 5 years protected no claims, no points and all mods declared on a gti - £750 fully comp. It's mad how much the companies all vary in how much they take the piss! Patrick
-
Not sure whereabouts you are but AMD in Thurrock are great with vag stuff and I know do a remap for the gti not sure about the sport etc. Definately no cowboys in my opinion Patrick

Mine just went down ever so slightly with brentacre however did have a quote for £2900 from swinton which did make me lol

I was looking when I fitted my induction kit, There's a space at the front right looking at the engine bay where the horn is - if this was moved slightly I think it's quite a clear route to the bumper. Patrick
