sam_vr6
I think paying more than a grand insurance at 19 is too much. At 19 I insured my Yaris T Sport (group 8) for £665 with one years no claims.Have you tried elephant for an insurance quote? They're good for young drivers. Pete91
The price for insurance sounds pretty good on the gti man Also, if you don't mind the high mileage the. Peirs' is immaculate
sam_vr6
What insurance group is a GTi? I'd imagine the GTi branding bumps it up a group or 2?
Skezza
To be honest, if your 19 and looking at a GTi, with all the current problems with insurance fraud and compo culture you should expect to be paying that much to be honest. I paid £700 for my 1L at that age, a car far less powerful.I'd be happy with 1100 if that's what you can get it for
sam_vr6
It depends where you live as well, North East Scotland where I live is supposed to be one of the cheapest places in UK for insurance, directly related to low population density too i'd imagine. sam_vr6
Yeah is Aberdeen not in the cheapest post code bracket? Dundee on the other hand... I stay in Aberdeenshire which is where my car is insured obviously. Aberdeenshire postcodes are slightly cheaper than Aberdeen ones for obvious reasons.LOL Dundee.Where you from btw? That's twice you've ripped Dundee recently, first guess would be Aberdeen on that basis?
sam_vr6
I think it was you that ripped Dundee yesterday anyways...?

I'd imagine the GTi branding bumps it up a group or 2?Group 11....and it was moi that ripped Dundee.I now live in Perth, but previously Angus. I worked in Arbroath, Montrose, Edzell and Aberdeen before coming to Perth.Dundee is actually a great city. It's been much improved in the 31 years I've lived in Scotland. sam_vr6
Haha sounds like you both have a similar opinion of Dundee to me. I really like the city but at the same time it still is and always will be Scumdee! Just North of Dundee in South Angus there's some really nice houses and you get a lot for your money, somewhere I wouldn't mind living in the future. Silver!
Yes, we're about £380 for both cars on a multicar. Both wit £0 voluntary excess and the Dune TDI has £60 compulsory.I think PH is a good postcode too.

Piers
Mines on ebay with a 2600 reserve... get bidding i might surprise you here, i might not. But my knowledge of scotland is quiet good in terms of area's and postcodes. My previous job (planner) meant i organised engineers between York and Inverness. Quite a large area really, knew it all like the back of my hand at the time... forgot a lot of it now but im sure a few days hovering over the postcodes would remind me again. I could literally point on the map to a certain postcode and be within 5/10 miles. when i say postcode, i mean the first digits. e.g EH54 is livingston. Aberdeenshire (in terms of postcode) is a massive area! stretches all the way accross to the loch ness or near enough.boring i know... Piers
Haha don't worry mate. I know it's sad. I honestly knew it that well. Couldn't do it now mind... But I had to know it for my job so it was important. 3 years in the job so had 3 years to remember it. We are all good at some stuff
