Hi all! I'm Ionuț (I believe my name would be Johnny in English) and I'm from Bucharest, Romania. I bought during summer a not running 1.4 AUB Lupo, thought it had broken timing belt but there was much more, the exhaust camshaft being seized. It suposed to be a winter car, I usually ride a motorcycle and my wife drives our family car. Winter is here and I'm still working on the little Lupo, I fully rebuild the engine and these days trying to finish putting all back together. Merry Christmas everybody!

Hi all, lurked for ages but finally pulled the trigger! Been wanting an SDI for quite a while and the right one popped up less than 3 miles from home last week! Went to view in the dark after work and decided it was good enough for what I needed. Red 04 plate SDI S with around 170k on the clock, full service history with many stamps and cambelt/water pump done last year. Drives really well and is totally standard, couple of issues such as creaking clutch pedal.. I'm assuming pedal box, do VW still cover (or partially cover) this job under warranty? Will probably change all the braking components and fit some coilovers and perhaps change wheels (wouldn't mind some banded steels). Other then that it's going to remain pretty standard as it's the daily mile muncher whilst my S3 sits on the driveway. Couple questions, how can I tell if it has ABS? And does anyone know of any insurance companies that will mirror my no claims discount onto the lupo? I seem to be getting quotes for more than the S3! And that's stage 2+ declared! Hi all, I currently do not own a Lupo but I am seriously looking to get one, however the Lupos rear bumper (atleast to be) looks out of place. As seen in the image below I have attempted to remove the 'lip' of said bumper, thanks to Microsoft Paint. I was just wondering how easy it would be to move said bumper from the Lupo and do such a body modification to the car, and if its even worth doing. I understand that such a modification is relatively petty, because this is the only thing that deters me from currently purchasing the car. Many Thanks.

Hi all, I've been looking at buying a Lupo, preferable a 1.4 or higher, for almost four months now and I was wondering what I should be looking out for when inspecting one. Atop of this, what does should it feel like to drive a Lupo and - again - is there anything I should be looking out for when test driving one of these cars. Many Thanks Edit: Also once I have purchased the car are there any "standard modifications" that I should add to improve driver comfort, such as purchasing a new gear stick with an increased amount of length.

Make: VW Model: Lupo SDI MOT: 28/11/18 (Fail) TAX: £30 p.y Milage: 105,000 I am sad to have to do this but I am going to have to let my Lupo go as it has failed its MOT today I have attached the list of faults. Other than what is listed the car is in not to bad condition. It is clean and drives well. I am not in the position to break it for parts. If I had the time and space I would fix it myself but this is not an option for me. Location: Salisbury Wiltshire Price: £650

Morning all, Thanks for the add to these forums. I see many nice looking Lupos around, and a friendly community. I'm currently in the market for a GTi, and had a couple of questions to try and narrow down my search. > Are any of you considering selling? I've a budget of between 2.5/3.5k. Not looking for an ultra low mile rare, just a well-maintained, rust-free example. Please point me in the right direction, or PM. > Regarding the spec; can anyone advise me what the rarest upgrades were to these little cars? I would love to get one with a sunroof and/or the heated leather seats, but appreciate these ones do come with a premium. Also would quite like a Raven blue, but know these are quite uncommon... I'm coming from a BMW Z4M Coupe & Honda S2000, so am hoping to enjoy the fizzy motor in the GTi whilst appreciating the tasty MPG. So I have decided in the interest of the people that we need to dedicate a thread to @mattarosa. This is that thread. I shall start from today, as previous adventures will require memory recollection, and I’ve had a few gins so that can wait. I have take mattarosa’s virginity. Yes. You read this correctly. I have total control of it. That is, his IKEA virginity. Today, mattarosa drove @danno (who is a p***k) and myself to the metro centre, which is also somewhere he has never been, and we went into ikea. I am pretty sure that this is the best thing to happen to my little Matt since lupo cufflinks. Anywho, he had meatballs, mash and gravy. And I believe in my heart he was satisfied. And oh I also took his Parmo virginity. It’s been a double cherry popping time :) Mattarosa likes to drive 3 and a half hours from his little domain in Leek to the grand county of Durham to visit me! He brings me oatcakes in exchange for a swig of gin, hot food and a bed. No Rich, we do not have strange relations. Yes Pete you’re always welcome. No Martin I haven’t got a cat. For sale is a pair of pop out rear windows for a lump / arosa. Come with the seal which is in good condition. I can fit a 15% dark tint to them but will cost extra. looking for £50 collected from nuneaton CV10 area. Thanks x

Hi, I've decided to sell my 2005 Lupo Gti I'm the 4th owner from new.. I've owned this car for last 3 years. First Reg: March 2005 Colour Silver Interior black and grey. 1.6 16v 6 speed Central locking, CD Changer, Electric Windows, Alarm, Xeons, Aircon, 6 speed gearbox Mileage 163750MOT Till 5th February 2019 Comes with original bill of sale all original manuals etc.. The good: I've done quite a bit to it over the last couple of years, New Wheel Bearings New Track Rod Ends VW Front and Rear Shocks Rear Spring plates replaced New Front Anti-Roll Bar Bushes New Wish Bones, New Wishbone Bushes New Top Mounts New Eichbach Rear Arm Bushes New VW Headlight washer jets and accessories, etc. New Battery New Toyo Proxies Front and Rear New VW Beesting aerial, New number plate light holder. The water pump, cam belt, balance bar, water pump, spark plugs, coolant etc, was replaced in 2015 the car has been regularly serviced while I've owned it. Just had new VW coolant temp sensor. New MAF Sensor. Car is FSH completely straight and HPi clear. Lots of Invoices and receipts. There's lots more that's been done, had the gear selector fixed, hydraulic servo fluid replaced. It used to be difficult to get into 1st now works perfectly. I have a nice new set of metal pressed plated for this car will include them. The bad: A couple of rust spots, needs a new drivers door actuator, advisory for brake disks and rear spring for having corrosion, only because It was sat for a few months and wasn’t used due to new arrival of a baby. Also a small oil leak from engine, aircon could do with re-gas. Window switch sometimes sticks but window does go up. Easy fix. Sometimes makes on noise on start could be starter motor been doing it since I had it and its been fine. Usual body and mileage related marks, mark on front bumper, etc, nothing that detracts it from a clean looking car. Is anyone selling a left Driveshaft for a 1.4TDI, apparently I need a JZW-407451/AX but they seem too be very hard too come by, are there any other alternatives that'll fit or am I going too have to get a new one(if I can find one) or get mine reconditioned? Thank you.

Standard Lupo Suspension Springs OPEN TO SENSIBLE OFFERS Can be sold desperately or as a set, Nothing wrong with them, just don’t need them as my Lupo is on lowering springs. Will post! comment/message me if interested

So I’ve been a member on here for a few months now, never really posted much. I bought the Lupo for £450, had a few mechanical problems, I broke the gearbox when I first started driving so had my dad sort that. I wasn’t really going to do much to the car as I didn’t really think I’d keep if for a long time. Slowly started adding stickers to the back and thought that’s all that I’d do as I didn’t think it was worth spending much on a £450 car. Here he is today, haven’t finished with him at all. I bought a few things and before I knew it he’s completely different to how he was when I first bought him. Haven’t really got many photos of the “in-between” stages. But he was a standard Lupo 1.4s. Nothing more, now he’s a little more exciting. So here he is just after I bought him. As standard as you can get. This is about half a year later, as you can see, quite a bit has changed. (Lowered, modded lights/ indicators , Tarantula alloys, wind deflectors, a load of other stuff I can’t think of.) Rear end, partially smoked and yellow tinted lights, wiper blank, stickers. Pressed plates. Splitter. Still a load to be done, spacers are on their way for the rears, fronts will then be done eventually, got some plans for the steering wheel to be changed and hopefully straight through exhaust at some point, body work needs some attention and the wheels need a good refurb. oh and here’s the gearstick and gator. Cherry/Pro Bomb fitted. Mainly bought for the fact it’ll annoy the people that live nearby. 25mm Rear Spacers fitted also. Still need to get passenger side rear wheel painted gold, along with returning the others.

Any one got a1.416v throttle body laying around? its the one that is fly by wiring and not the throttle cable driven one. many thanks Lewis K

Having an issue with the stereo not powering on at all. Tried 2 different stereos, neither work in the GTI but both do in the polo 6n2. Safe to say the stereos are good. Here is a pic of the stereo wires. (unsure what the purple and black wires are, but have no voltage at any stage) I have recorded the voltage of the black plug as I think the brown plug is just for the speakers? I have checked fuses 20 and 46 and and seem good. These voltages are as if you are looking at the black plug straight on. Any thoughts?

I'd be willing to sell the kit for £1000 its still on the car currently only used for a year of driving (9000 miles) so can send videos of it all working serious buyers only before i remove it deposit to be paid. if someone would like to purchase the car as a whole id sell it for £1750 has Sparco R100 bucket seats and rails, Pressed plates and 7x13 bullet steels on the front and 8x13 on the rear (Need Refurb) Fronts need 2 new tyres can give set of original steelies with good as new tyres too. The body is work is really rough and i should of used a different shell to modify as it has dents all over and was my 1st car but if someone is interested in the Suspension which is Air Lift Performance digital V2 Setup with 5gallon tank, Viair compressor, Digital controller and 4 Air Complete Air Bags. Hi, was going through images of lupos to get ideas of what to do for mine and I saw one with square indicators and I like the look but can’t find anything about them? Anyone know anything? Theres an image bellow is the one I’ve seen.

Bit of a daft question here, but the VW CD player that' in my car has a single CD slot on the face, but also has CD Changer option on it and for the life of my I can' work the changer. The manual doesn't help, so can anybody help me on how the CD Changer works.

So some time I start my car and its perfectly fine, idols fine and revs fine, does have any rev hang at all then sometimes I start it and the revs just keep climbing till near 2k rpm and take ages to come back down to earth. Also sometimes it only starts happening after long drives then other days after doing the same drive it dosent happen. Would this be down to vaccum lines? I'm pretty certain I've no vaccum leaks but I'm looking for some answers or suggestions ?

Hello I have a 2003 (53 plate) lupo 1.4 16v can anyone tell me if they have central locking as standard? If so who do I go about reprogramming a blank key/ best place to get blank key?
