shaunyshaun1234
Would it be safe to use a hub adapter (5X130) and then a small (perhaps 8-9mm) spacer on top of that?So bolt the adapter to the hub then add a spacer and then fit the wheel?I know I should have purchased thicker adapters but was unsure of the thickness and it seems like a long winded thing to sell the current adapter, purchase new ones (and add money on top after seeling current adapters second hand)!!The fact that I'm even asking on here makes me think its a bit of a no go!So let me know your thoughts!! lizzy
Providing you've got longer bolts and the hub from the adapter still sticks through enough to locate the wheel I think you will be fine.
Koop
And hubcentric spacers.
joshuaar
I wouldn't fancy it personally Edited January 30, 2013 by joshuaar
Philplop
I ran 20mm spacers and 20mm adapters for a while with no issues. And stretched 165/40/16 Nankangs, just for extra death. They were both bolt-on style. I'd want hubcentric if there was no hub lip poking through. Edited January 30, 2013 by Philplop
jadelauren
id rather go for the hub centric ones rather than the sandwich spacers but its all depending on personal preference. I just don't trust putting extra pressure on longer bolts but that's just me. my friend who runs a E36 and E46 both have sandwich spacers and he drifts the 36 and hasn't had any issues Edited February 11, 2013 by jadelauren
