  1. A long shot but do you still have this gear box kicking about for sale at all or have any advise on where I could obtain a nice example as mine is dying a slow death? x
  2. Finally go the Lupo booked in for her dint to be removed the week before VW Fest! So hopefully will have her perfect ready for the show Last night's events - decided her crap boring wheel was enough so I ordered myself a MOMO boss of the interwebs last week and added it to the girl with her new leather MOMO Race 320" she finally looks and feels better. I will add a few pictures of my old wheel as its fair to say it was a mare to get off and left in a right state now. It was not an easy job to remove the airbag. One side clicked off easily, then the second side took 40 minutes until I finally lost my rag and cut around the latch hole with a Stanley and a friend with a set of muscles stepped in to rip off Next project part is to dissect the old steering wheel and solder the horn and airbag wires back in and join them up to the resister. The possibly invest in a little airhorn for her new tooter as the OEM one sounds too normal. Hers a snap of her new wheel on
  3. Ah hey Koop! You were right! I would love her interior but sadly she is asking way over what I can afford so sticking with mine until I become more wealthy again Thank you, glad you like it Just an update on her progress; Tried my hand at polishing the Lupo on my own without anyone looking over my shoulder I had some left over paint from the wheels so i decided to colour co-ordinate a few bits inside my bonnet - I have cleaned the inside of the bonnet since then and painted my air intake pipe. I then decided it was time to tackle my miss matching wing mirrors so sanded them down and painted them to match too. Then one weekend I decided the Lupo was now low enough on the back so took the plunge and lobbed a spring off the rear and put underseal on the arches to stop them from rotting from where i rolled them. The other half treated me to a new set of front brake pads too as she is starting to sqeek Next on my list of things to do is to get her dint and crease pulled and painted hopefully before VW Fest and if I have any spare pennies then to get some hub centrics made for her
  4. A young male silver rosie driver waving in Haverhill coming away from town centre towards whittlesfield roundabout. Sorry I saw you at the last minute
  5. Tell me about it, we tried to take off the inlet but couldn't be bothered to take the runners off so went from bottom up lol. Needless to say it took a lot of twisting, swearing and sweat but got there in the end. Wish i did it the inlet way now lol. Thank you the other half is now chuffed haha I'll never hear the end of it
  6. Recent picture of some beading Went to Yorkshire Modified Show last weekend with the GroundZero crew. Found a few pictures around which I thought I would add. Sadly the week prior to going the Lupo decided to break her CAT and constantly make an annoying tinkling noise. She then decided to reduce for 60bhp to 30bhp and pump out smokey sooty deposits so we decided we would attempt to fix her ourselves which was a right laugh to do ourselves at home. We got her on axel stands, detached the old exhaust from under the bonnet and eventually after 2 hours we got it free then got the new one on. Now she sounds like her normal Massey Ferguson self again. Next on the to do list is to flat back the front indicator panel which I've painted and lacquer it, paint the wing mirrors and then do my decal on the roof. Busy summer ahead!
  7. Looks good simple yet effective - nice little jobs on her. Most people don't realise a SDI is rather different to a 1.0 or GTI when it comes to modifications so you cant really go overboard but you've done her a treat! Enjoy the 60+mpg and £30 py road tax, well worth going that little bit slower I think
  8. Doesn't matter really. Think most people by passed that I had already brought one and was fitting it tonight. Regardless, I don't want to bodge job my car as its just not how I am, changed the CAT on my drive this evening, only took a few hours. Not any good at welding so couldn't be arsed with that when I'd need a CAT anyway as it would fail MOT as it was made after 92. I know a few places that would pass it next year if I had welded a spacer in but I'd rather keep it OEM in that sense and keep it legal rather than cutting corners. Wasn't that much anyway, just less than £140 for the set up and nowt to fit on my drive. Immediately she's more responsive and smoother to drive. Quite chuffed. Thanks anyway guys but it was just an update.
  9. Thing is it will be a right noisy bugger if I take out the baffles, it's just passed its MOT at the start of May so not too worried about that. Just don't want it rattling anymore and with getting a 409 grade stainless steel set up I'm hoping it will sound better. Plus just de Cat-ing a car isn't that easy I didn't think Skezza :/ I would need to weld in a cat spacer and then tinker about with the lambda sensor after ive removed the cat as it will just have a fit as it will only measure unburnt fuel
  10. So after doing a full oil change and changing the fuel filter and many months later I find out that indeed it is my CAT that is giving up on me, a few weeks ago the exhaust started to smoke white fumes and cough out piles of black soot. Then gradually loosing power (running about 45bhp) and trying to stall when pulling off and feeling jolty. Then there was the rattle from the exhaust - After lifting the car in the air and having a poke about it seams the baffles have fallen in the CAT restricting the air flow therefore loosing power, feeling sluggish and coughing sooty deposits. Replacing the CAT tonight which will be bundles of fun!
  11. Mini update - made use of the bank holiday weekend and made a few changes Finally got fed up of the red wheels and wanted something more 'me' so I got some tiffanys green 2pack paint for my wheels mixed up This is the result! We also decided to paint the other halfs car at the same time the same colour, whilst that was drying we machine polished the Lupo We also started to primer the new grill and painted it black - haven't got a picture of it fitted as need to go over it wet 2000 and wax it
  12. Oh only just seen this! May take them off your hand if you still have them, shall message you when I have a few pennies
  13. I've got a set of JOM's - can't fault em and would suggest them to anyone
  14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JOM-Height-Adjustable-Coilovers-VW-LUPO-/281000840149?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item416cf48bd5 It's what most people run on. Take adjusters out the back or lob a coil off the back and put the cup in. helpers off the front too should do the trick. Have a fiddle and find where your happy everyone is different. Low profile tyres also help a lot
  15. Have a look on club lupo on facebook or on the classified on here. You can usually pick one up quite cheap - £40/50ish
