morganvw1
As above, anyone done this and whats involved?Any links would be a bonus.ThanksScott
Deadmetal
You'll need the engine, gearbox, ecu and everything needed to make it run, alternator etc, engine loom, mabey drivshafts. It's one of the easier engine swaps, though the only engine that will "drop in" is the same one as standard. morganvw1
I have been asked if I want a rear ended Polo with this engine in, so I think everything is there. Will the engine fit onto the existing engine mounts?
madmanncfc
The mounts are the same on both engines as far as I'm aware
Deadmetal
If you've been offered a rar ended plo then go for it.You'll have everything you'll need, it's the way I want to do the swap. lolAs above, the engine mounts are the same. morganvw1
Thanks guys. I take it I can use the breaks off the polo for a bit more stopping power or should I go for VR6 calipers? Should I upgrade the servo or will mine do the trick.
Deadmetal
If you've got the bits, put all the polo stuff on the lupo. You can upgrade the front to g60 disks and calipers.
madmanncfc
Also if you've got a 1.4 75hp then you'll need the hubs off the polo gti to convert the brakes. Having the full car is definately the way to go about it as its all there.Plus you can sell bits to get some money back.
heartagram
Basically reshell the Polo into your Lupo and it will be all good.
Rich
If you have half an idea what you're doing and you aren't being optimistic about doing it in a weekend then you'll be fine.
