Thooooom
So I always thought my car weighed just under a ton, like 998kg.I was messing around under the bonnet today, and on the little badge that says the vin number on the left of the bulk head, it says 1390kg? Am I being silly?
Defcon5
Can you imagine a 1.0 that weighed 1390kg?The kerb wieght of a Lupo (inc driver) is less than a ton.I think the number you refer to is the max permissable weight of the vehicle including any luggage. Thooooom
Well I read that it was the gross vehicle weight? However I was told that was the second number, and that was followed by the front and rear axel weights. It's something like this1390 kg 2100ish kg600ish kg ( apparently weight over the rear axel)700ish kg ( apparently weight over the front axel) So I'm very confused now
shaunsprules
The weight over front axel would be alot heavier then rear as engine and gizmos, I think 1.0 is 998kg and + for other models and extras like aircon
Defcon5
Bossjohnc weighted his GTI and it came to 998kg, inc fuel and aircon.1390lbs is about 950kg, are you sure it says kgs?
Thooooom
Oh god, I've been stupid I think... I'll check defcon but that seems to make sense. Thanks
scotty_82
Go to the nearest weigh bridge
puggled
1390lbs is about 950kg, are you sure it says kgs?Not with 2.2lbs in a kilo it isn't...It does look like the figures are in pounds though. First could be dry weight second kerb weight.
Defcon5
^ lol, apologies, late night maths is hard!I cant see why it would be in lbs though, ze Germans are about as pro-metric as you can get
