GTi Si
What size is fitted by VW?Can I use 195/45/15's? Will the only effect be a slightly alter speedo readout?S
Blackrat
baa you wont even notice the difference on the speedostd tyres are 205/45/
db
Standard size on the Bathursts are 205/45/15.You could fit 195/45/15's but they will give a slightly different speedo reading as the rolling radius is slightly smaller. Other than that i cant think of any adverse affects. Someone correct me if i am wrong.

GTi Si
Just looking at replacement tyres from the other thread as I don't think you can get Eagle F1's in 205/45/15 size.S
twisty b-road
No only Dunlops at the mo.......Toyo are reputed to be doing one now or soon
Snoopy
You can't. I'm running F1 GSD3s in 195/45/15 size, nothing adverse, car's far faster around corners with them on, despite the slightly reduced contact patch.
Nicki
Yeah, I'm probably going to change over to 195/45/15's as they're cheaper & you have a better choice of tyres...If you want to work out rolling diameters, use this:http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html195's are lighter than 205's too so you'll save weight! 8)
tdwindustries
they should also have more contact with the ground, because of the odd qualities of wide tyres, no?
carmadaaron
195s are cheaper i believe... cus u can get really cheap makes too
