Huw Pugh
Okay, I'm familiar with offsets and what's needed etc, but I always get confused when it comes to split rims. If you increase the size of the dish, you decrease the offset yes?
nfbr
That is correct. But you need to calculate it on paper as it works out in a really odd way. With a bigger dish you are increasing the width, as well as moving the centre line so it's not just a case of adding 25mm to your offset per extra inch of dish. Philplop
What he said. This comes in handy to work it out. Put in the original spec, and the new width. Adjust the new width until the inner clearance is the same.Et voila!Whatever size dish you're adding, half that amount will be knocked off the offset. For example, if you add a dish that is 1 inch (25.4mm) bigger than standard, your new offset will be 12.7mm lower than standard. Huw Pugh
Cheers guys. Big help! I figured it wasn't just addng 25mm per inch, but wasn't sure how it affected.
elliecjno1
May I ask what you're plotting now? Edited September 10, 2009 by elliecjno1

Huw Pugh
Nothing. Sooo... if I had a rim that was 6.5j ET33. If I added a 1.5" lip to make them and 8", the ET would be 13?
pro3mark
I work it out as 14, but yes, around that.
Adam
Sounds like somebody is plotting a phat dish on some RMs?!
Huw Pugh
Sounds like somebody is plotting a phat dish on some RMs?! Phat dish is the order of the day, but i just used the RM ET as a bench mark. Want to make sure I calculate things right.
