cobblers
165/50/15s will be tight, 185/45/15s ideal and 195/45/15s slightly wide. They'll fit the car fine

jamiea7x
id go with the 165's perosnally will give you more clearnace around the arches
cobblers
Re-reading that it looks like I meant tight was bad. Tight is good.
MacGTR
May as well do it on here rather than making another thread, I should be okay with clearance and no scrubbing on 195/50/15 on a et36 15" 6.5J wheel right? MacGTR
Seriously? I was down about 100mm all round on standard sport wheels and they are exactly the same spec as your wheels and tyres I think and I had no problems what so ever... one litre wonder ;)
i ran 15x7 ET25 and had to use 175/50/15's and i still had to roll the rear arches and then camber the front to make them fit as i was really low like jamie

What profile would you run on 165s? I will be dropping it on some AK coils too Edited August 29, 2009 by hartge
pro3mark
165/50, Bridgestone would be my first choice, you can get Nankang cheap, and i believe Kumho make them now too which i'd have over the Nankangs.

hartge
Will I be able to get away with a 20mm spacer with these? Need to see some pics. 10mm spacer is ok, around 5mm more and the lip of the wheel will be inline with the arch.

Philplop
And what width the wheels are.And what size the tyres are.And how low your car is.Best way to do it is look get some weight on the suspension so it compresses, and then see how much arch gap there is. Then guess what size you can get away with. Could buy some cheapo universal ones off ebay to test.
Toon
the wheels are 7" all roundThe tyres are 195/50/15i have about an inch gap from the top of the tyre to the arch lip, but the arches are getting rolled soon.they are ta technix coilovers, all the way down at the back with the adjusters on
hartge
is it possible to run 15" 8j all round ET25?
Philplop
With 195/45's, yes, but you won't be able to go very low. With 165/50's you can probably go as low as you like, but the tyres are a bit silly.
Mr ColinG
is it possible to run 15" 8j all round ET25?Yes, as Phil says with 195/45's probably need to do a wee bit of arch fettling though.
MacGTR
Where is the best place to get cheap 165/50/15's? They should be good on 7.5J's right? I'm not going to get the bead breaking on hard driving am I?Or am I better going with 175's? Edited December 31, 2009 by MacGTR
Philplop
The 175/50/15's I've seen look bigger than 195/45's!Try mytyres and balckcircles for 165/50's. The bead won't break, but big stretch isn't ideal for hard driving. I've got them on my 8's and they've always been fine, but I've never driven really hard on them. After going back to standard wheels with good 195/45's on though, you realise how much grip you were missing out on.
