hi folks, i want the euro look on my arsoa. i have coilovers on it and want to know what size the wheels are people use to get the look. 14x8 possibly and is an ET20 a good start? not too clued up on the offsets an arosa will take. dont want them to sit too far out from the arches.

Whatever you do dont run 13's, unless you want to drive everywere with your heart in your mouth and a permanantly tightened anus! Been running them for 2 weeks now myself and still having nightmares!

14x8 et20 is perfect, with 195/45/14s on. They are what I run:

Had to roll all 4 arches to get this low though.

That looks quality!

How low could you get without having to roll the arches on 14x8's?

I don't get this Euro'd thing.... Somebody care explain??

You don't need to get it, after all it's just a made up thing.

After all the VAG Scene is all about modifying your own car to suit your own personal tastes! :)

None of this crap with conforming to a specific "look!"

Mick Clements did an excellent column in PVW a few months back about it. Simply (working from his column), back in the 90's all the VWs here rocked metallic paints, 17"s and big bumpers. Over in Europe they had tiny dished wheels, pastel colours and incredible 'stance'. Gradually that made it over here as "Euro" look.

Now, "Euro" is a set of ATS cups/Ronal Turbos and 40mm drop.

Now stance is a word which is often used wrong over here!

The term "Stance" to describe a car was originally used by the Americans to describe a vehicle with a chunky rear tyre that filled the arch and a nose down "forward rake" Somewhat imitating a Drag racer.

Unfortunately the "Dub Squad" have taken this term and pretty much turned it into something meaningless... People seem to think stance is a car that is perfectly level and lowered a lot, whilst other people think it's more relative to its original use as a vehicle with a forward rake. Some people think stance describes a car which has wider rear wheels than fronts, again relating back to the original.

I don't know what stance means any more because it's been used incorrectly so many times!

To me stance means this:

Not this:
