dj_lupz
it'l be back soon mate! how easy was it to do the indicator panel?Quite easy atchly,- I got some 3mm thick ABS plastic from uni which is the same material as the indicator panel.- Made some templates- Cut them out- Sanded and removed all the paint around the area- Super glued them in place then used a solderin iron to weld them top gether- Fiberglassed over and sanded- Smoother over with filler- 1st coat of primer - Sanded back and corrected any inperfections then primered up. dj_lupz
How much will the respray cost? Just going back for black I take it.Got a few quote before i started all the prep.Few cheap one's for like £600 and then £1000 from a decent body shop.think i'm going go get it done at the decent body shop coz i've learn in life you pay for what u get. ( if u buy a cheaper version of something you always end up getting the real thing coz the cheap one is jsut cheap) if you get any of that.but with me doing all the prep work hopfully it will bring the cost down quite abit.body shop will just have to touch one or two things up and some other things. and give it a final primer then spay it up. I would like to go down and help with the process just to get some experience if he would allow me.and yes Black FTW Desided on a stelf euro style Can't wait to get to grips on my interiorWatch This Space!! greenson
Black FTW! good to see it coming together again!any ideas how your having your trim, or you keeping that a secret?
Philplop
Have you checked whether the bodyshops will be happy for you to do the prep work? The prep is the most important bit, so lots of places aren't willing to just blow the paint over, as any imperfections in the customers prep work could get the bodyshop a bad reputation, if you know what I mean.Would be an idea to check with them first, otherwise you might waste a hell of lot of time and effort prepping it up! Especially if you're planning to primer it too.
