obviously ya cant get much of a stretch on 15x7J teledials but whats the best size tyres to buy for a little stretch!?

Probably around a 165 on a 50 profile

You can get as much stretch on them as you like mate, it just depends on what tyre you buy. As simpo said though a 165/50 would give you some nice stretch.

i dont want loads of stretch, 165s would be really stretched wouldnt they? how would 185s or 195s look?

195s wouldnt look stretched and 185 would look a little stretched! go for 165s

I run 165/50 on a 6.5J rim, the tyres are Bridgestone Potenza's and they have a little stretch. 185 will offer round about the same sort of stretch, but if you want them too look visibly stretched a 165/50 is the best bet for you. Have a look at Heartagrams Lupo sport in readers rides to see a 165/50 stretch on some 7Js.

Whats the law on this? i have got some ATS cups with 165/50s Bridgestone Potenza's and there is quite a gd stretch but how do the old bill see this?

the law reguarding wide wheels is basically in short , you can have your wheels as wide as you like as long as no part of the top of the tread is sticking out of the arches . hence we stretch the tyres so that the top tread is still under the arch

I don't think there's any specific law against it, but I suppose they could probably say it's unsafe as they're stretched past the recommended amount.
