Max69vk
Any bodyshop should be able to use a tag/slide hammer welder to pull it back out again.
nfbr
Any bodyshop should be able to use a tag/slide hammer welder to pull it back out again. Its stabbed the side with an angle, so theres a big deep "V" in the bodywork... Needs a new full rear quarter i think... Lucky its the side that was already damaged... Edited April 7, 2007 by nfbr

nfbr
dont want ANY filler on the car cos i dont want it to look a messFiller pretty much always cracks, and black paint doesnt ever seem to set right on filler... Always looks Orange Peal. Edited April 7, 2007 by nfbr
paulbin
filler doesnt crack if its been done properly. If the dent was pulled out properly and levelled with a panel hammer then it would only need a few skims of filler to fix, and black paint not sitting right on filler? orange peel is only ever in the clear top coat which can be flatted to look like glass. nfbr
I'm probably just paranoid about the black paint thing as i've never seen a black car repaired that doesnt look like ass..

Jake-VW
Same things happened to my car. Hope you get it sorted.
lupo_1.0
that can be done mate no probs. and if you didnt want any filler then you will be looking at a whole side of the car not just a rear 1/4 as you will have to get the whole sill and the whole piller from front wing. just seems to be a lot more work then needed with the spraying on top of all that too.but that dent can be palled out, also the line above, maybe then tapped out then a thin skim of filler and then apply the stonechip again,(iam not a panel beater so may have missed a few things lol)and like paulbin said the orange peal is down to the paint side of things but can be sorted out anyway. nfbr
and if you didnt want any filler then you will be looking at a whole side of the car not just a rear 1/4 as you will have to get the whole sill and the whole piller from front wing.My Hadrian Panels catalogue seems to say otherwise. Mitchell
i'd rather have filler than a hadrians panel or any other pattern part for that matter, that dent will push forward from inside i have seen whole sides repaired that have been a 100 times worse than that using filler, your panick is ott you'll never know it was there, where as if the car had a quarter on it if you know what your looking for you'll find it, if i view a car i pull off the door shut rubbers to see what the spot welds are like and also remove a rear panel to see if the panels inside is in transport primer or the factoryy stuff, for a dent that size mate i'd have filler all day.hadrians panel £65 vw genuine £
nfbr
hmmYou make a good point...I've Tried to get into where the damage is from behind the door panel and its near on impossible... I lose my entire arm down the side before i can even touch the damaged area, never mind use any force on it.I'm pretty sure one of thems Suction/Slide hammer things should be able to pull the majority of it back into shape! Then it'd only need a light skim over with filler, as the main area of where its pysically bent the surface is on the hammered bit of the sill... lupo_1.0
My Hadrian Panels catalogue seems to say otherwise.but the rear panel is welded to just behide thelight, the to the roof and that panel follows the roof all the way down to the front wing, it is then welded under the door rubbers all the way around, and then the sill in also art of the rear 1/4.the rear 1/4 is that whole red thing, so it would be easyer to just cut it in places and not replace all of that. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" class="linked-image" />

Unheard
as an inexperienced first time modder...no need for that mate!! Only thing that is different on my sport are the alloys, standard ones were kerbed to **** when I got the carthe exhaust got a custom built cat back no way i was paying £800 for the standard replacement when i could get a 304 stainless one with a lifetime guaranteeand a stubby aerial because I don’t like my car looking like its radio controlled, only other thing i intend to do is may be lower the car as it really could do with it and may be remove the bump strip as some nice person has already done part of the passenger side for me style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />apart form that its staying 100% standardso ya that makes me an inexperienced first time modder style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="clap.gif" /> !! im not one for body kits and stick on bits but it was a potential solution to your problem and as I said just an idea Edited April 9, 2007 by Unheard
