nickbarnes07
We get alot, and i do mean alot of enquiries about fitting 1.8T's to lupo's...but so far no one has put their money where their mouth is....Theres a spare 150bhp 1.8t on a pallet at the moment that belongs to a customer...who has since bought a BAM 225 for his conversion instead...if anyone fancies a lump <IMG SRC="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif"> style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />As for club lupo discounts.....a bit of a labour discount on general servicing, etc. we can manage, but conversions aren't hugely profitable as it is!can you give me a rough price as what sort of money you will charge to put a 1.8t in a lupo gti , as i am picking one up tommorow and am wanting a 1.8t lump in it

badger5
Nope, JabbaSport actually put the engine in . The 1 litre engine that was taken out is now in JabbaSport's courtesy LupoLMAO JBS fitted MrsB Lupo 1.8T conversion.Been faultless ever since. wish all converted 1.8t's ran so well.Expensive conversion, took 6 months on an 8 week project, lol, but heyho, some things are worth waiting for when they turn out so well. Factory like conversion JBS are renowned for. Not an insulation tape gaffer tape special, scotchlocked together like some companies will do.MrsB has loved it ever since. the original engine from hers went to JS to replace their ailing courtesy lupo. so they did fit an engine.. lol, a 1.0 into a 1.0, just not a 1.8Tand before anyone says.... the carvells 1.8T lupo had the engine install done by DanK. (top car that it was, race winner etc... but a sad unfortunate end to it for all concerned)Driven in anger on tracks as well.... perfect little car. badger5
Does anyone know if the GTi drive shafts are up for the job of a 1.8T?? all do they all have to be custom made.MrsB one runs Golf IV shafts welded to the lupo ends. (small CV's EAK!. but aside from mullering a pair on a photo shoot when it was first done, doing gummies etc, its held up fine on 250lbft torque and track use)wanders off to touch some wood, with my lucky rabbits foot in my hand.
