  1. MrsB Lupo.. Been converted 8 years ago now I think.. 1.8t power. Daily drive for my wife Now running a development hybrid k03 turbo on it, so posting this for those interested.. Originally built for me my JBS, and modded by me ever since. started life as 1.0 model - cars been in family from new 3" turbo back exhaust made by me (Badger5) and full 3" intake to turbo (k04 hybrid inside a k03 wrapper) 550cc injectors, charge cooler (which needs upgrade) Peloquin atb diff.. This is in prep for its new hybrid k03/4 turbo.. which is >300bhp spec turbo packaged into a k03 fitment, bolt on. Hybrid is fitted, but its old exhaust was never going to be adequate for its new flow potential.. Same turbo internals on a local S3, makes 338bhp/307lbft from 20-22psi boost. okies.. 3 into Lupo does indeed GO 3" TIP - check 3" Downpipe - check 3" Full Bore exhaust - check Comparison to its previous so called 2.5" system (which was 2" internally) The completed 3" exhaust - 3 box system Fitted underside view Fitted front underside view And how it looks from the normal view of the car.. What 3" exhaust?? couple of engine pics of its current install. its a mixed bag of pipes as it was originally done, which I will change for something a bit more Badger5 when I get time.. "compact" installation - lol
  2. 1.0 ltr beam.. GTi disks/caliper GTi one has an integral arb yea? what diameter?
  3. Full setup. You cant just use carriers with wider G60/Cupra calipers G60 pads are thicker than GTi ones... 15.6mm vs 19.6mm
  4. True the track use is extreme and not what I built the car to do.. hence the roll.. Its her car not mine. She's good enough to let me play in it on occasion. The car is heavier front end cos of the 1.8T, Golf g'box etc, but is running lupo gti front arb and coilies.. (cheapo Vmaxx ones) For track use proper, it would all be stiffened up and a rear arb added to the beam. Track vs road tho... you can drive the same handling car, just no ones coming the opposite way on a track (usually) Its a reasonable compromise. Sits s little too low for me, but she wont have it any other way. (one sump later, and added skid plate to the new one)
  5. what pads? what fluid? see MrsB Lupo pictures for 280's under duress with zero issues
  6. oh yes they can. (when you use components suited to the extreme duty) I avoid EBC pads like the plague... nasty pieces of rubbish by comparison. Greens too soft, reds about their best offering, yellow utter pants
  7. The picture says it all.... obviously. no led's req'd - LMAO this is no Halfords pimp mobile Inside the car, racing around Oulton Park, you would be oblivious to the glowing disks such was the consistency of the braking and pedal feel. 256mm Lupo GTi brakes suk. Faded like a pig, overheated.... and did not stop it so well. This car used to also run 305mm Brembo 4-pots which was seriously overbraked for such a small & light car. The 280mm setup worked much nicer as a package, combined DS2500 pads and high temp motul brake fluid. (as per my ibiza racecar) Good enough answer for you?
  8. MrsB one runs Golf IV shafts welded to the lupo ends. (small CV's EAK!. but aside from mullering a pair on a photo shoot when it was first done, doing gummies etc, its held up fine on 250lbft torque and track use) wanders off to touch some wood, with my lucky rabbits foot in my hand.
  9. Coilies on here.. cheap ass ones.. VMAXX. front Lupo GTi arb.. poly bushes etc - needs rear arb badly.
  10. 280mm G60/Ibiza Cupra front setup Running Ferodo DS2500 pads and Motul RBF600 fluid... disks are eliptically grooved Brembo ones. (brembo disks I get grooved)
  11. LMAO JBS fitted MrsB Lupo 1.8T conversion. Been faultless ever since. wish all converted 1.8t's ran so well. Expensive conversion, took 6 months on an 8 week project, lol, but heyho, some things are worth waiting for when they turn out so well. Factory like conversion JBS are renowned for. Not an insulation tape gaffer tape special, scotchlocked together like some companies will do. MrsB has loved it ever since. the original engine from hers went to JS to replace their ailing courtesy lupo. so they did fit an engine.. lol, a 1.0 into a 1.0, just not a 1.8T and before anyone says.... the carvells 1.8T lupo had the engine install done by DanK. (top car that it was, race winner etc... but a sad unfortunate end to it for all concerned) Driven in anger on tracks as well.... perfect little car.
  12. Probably as much as a like aged Lupo GTi would cost me. not cheap... but its not your avg Lupo either. I will be fitting my old PE1820 IHI hybrid on to it, along with some S3 pistons and forged rods... all ready to go on. Fitting will be on my equal length 1.8T mani too, so the thing should fly when done with an anticipated 370bhp (maybe more) Ballistic then, not thats its slow now.
  13. I had JBS Auto Designs do the work. Faultless since collection & looks factory install. Not cheap but quality workmanship The car runs on 280's (Corrado G60/Ibiza 20vt type setup) running Ferodo DS2500 pads, Motul Racing Brake fluid (all parts I sell) Suspension is from PhilJ coilovers. Front GTi lupo ARB, no rear (needs one tho) Custom Code chipped 1.8T with ~220bhp/250lbft torque - std engine. poly bushed wishbones.. thats about it oh, and loose nut behind the wheel I do.. No55, yellow SEAT Ibiza Cupra in the Combe Saloon C'ship. (siggy below) She was there and loved it. I was very respectfull to her car all day, not ragging it, or sliding it and staying off curbs etc... but the last session I did I raised my game as I "had" (lol) to pass a Rover race car on slicks. The brakes got a wee bit warm during that excursion it seems, but from inside the car you would never have known. Oulton is ace.. Full circuit. Its me who has to pay for all the bits I wear out and brake at the end of the day... tyres look a bit tired. (toyo R888's)
  14. its 1.8T yes. in a relatively plain 1.0 wrapper. (its former self) ibiza has sponsors to promote, so sadly sticker_ville. (not my cup of tea at all if anyone remembers it before.. plain jayne debadged only wearing nordschleif sticker on boot) Lupo is better on its new coiles, but still too much roll. ARB for rear beam to make to see how that settles things. Good fun tho. surprised quite a few cars on the day. which is always a laff
  15. MrsB's Lupo at Oulton Park on friday.. like the brakes? border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" />
  16. Eibach dont list a rear arb for lupo.
  17. Erm... no style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" />
  18. is'nt the eibach ARB smaller than the GTi one? I fitted Gti one. no rear available
  19. R888 Toyo's will be nice & grippy. uncanny is'nt it how similar looking your car is to MrsB's 1.8T incarnation. spooky. Pro-Race 1's in black on her's too (nicked off my ibiza race wheel sets) Awesome project..
  20. certainly less roll than bilsteins & Eibachs... and low as heck possible up front (too low if you want) ride is ok... a little bouncy/firm but not crashy as it could be. early days. still got to do geo on it. might go up a smidge on the front and try removing the rear platforms as PhilJ suggested some folks have done to try and drop the rear down a little more. For those who get anxious about metalwork however, be warned I rolled the arches and "cut" some bits off the front arches (liner and a couple mounting tabs for said) to allow it to sit low and not rub. so far so good. cos they're my wheels and she's technically nicked em. dont think R888's come in 45's great sidewall construction on the R888's unlike the plain nasty T1-R's we had on previous. (new ones - removed they were so bad) I'll snap some piccies when I get a mo. looks quite "mean" she likes it style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  21. its looking a tad different now. mucho low on the front (fearfully low tho!) - 45mm sump clearance! EAK. much much less roll now with the new coilies on it (cheers PhilJ) maybe try and drop the rear down further as PhilJ suggested. decked lupo! rolled the arches and trimmed some bits so no rubbing. 195-50-15 Toyo R888 tyres on 7x15 ET35 rims (Pro-Race 1's) replaced wheel bearing on it last night. (wore it out on saturday... tiny ickle bearings and hubs they are too)
  22. border="0" class="linked-image" /> border="0" alt="" /> ickle lupo (still on billies and eibachs, not its coilies) @ Castle Combe VW Driver track day on saturday. only car to pass was keith murrays a4 quattro racecar. passed miltek's RS4... style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Lupo Power style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
  23. mrsB lupo also style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
