No one are saying VW rock!

FFS, my next car will either be a Ford or a Renault, chances are Andy W has set his heart on the Renault, Twisty.. erm well Twisty hates the veedub but cant make his mind up...

Ive not seen one comment to suggest that anyone is saying it will be badly built.

Ive just seen comments regarding the fact you'd have to say "I drive a Corsa"

Thats not forum/VW snobbery.

Thats just common sense.

Still want one though

i'd rather buy a secondhand S4, or Mk5Gti DSG.

It will tourqe steer like the entire VXR range (220 excluded), it will understeer like the entire VXR range (220 included) and every cahv boy racer will have one. I think that the new Corsa looks like the Clio anyway!

Like the colour, but the rest of it..Na. Been there done that.

Have you driven all of those cars that you have an expert opinion on?

I've got my heart set on a 1.2 Fox

nice upgrade on the Gti eh wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

And as of yet Vauxhall are seemingly sticking to their list prices on the new corsa a friend was looking at a new SXi which seems to be their current 'sports' version and although it was clear the salesman would o a deal there is no where near as much movement on the D's as there was on the C's rolleyes.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

how does this compare on figures to the new polo gti then? its similar is it not to the new 197?

grande punto should get the same treatment as it's a shared development. Grande punto abarth might be fun and should look less of a halfords special.

lots of small interesting hot hatches coming out soon, might chop mine in but all fwd which isn't as appealing. alfa sprint, fiat trepiuno abarth and punto abarth, new honda type r. Tempting article in evo with best second hand £10k alternatives though RS2, M5, RX7, Clio v6 etc. could get one with plenty spare for maintenance and insurance... still fancy a tvr griffith though don't think there are any v8 specialists near me

Quite an interesting little interview with one of the engineers about it in EVO this month. Sounds like a real enthusiast and they've gone all out to make it pretty special it seems. They wanted the Recaros but were at the verge of having to chuck them because Vauxhaull said the car had to have side airbags.....so.....they searched high and low and eventually found an airbag unit small enough to fit.....from Lambourghini tongue.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

Also...the power output is so many hp over 100hp per litre which allows them to class the car in a specific category. Basically the laws on noise state that if you are in the bracket then you can run unsilenced over a certain rpm, hence the car will sound pretty good.

They've also spent time tuning the handling at Millbrook which is a good thing cause it replicates UK B Roads pretty well. I'd say this is shaping up to be a damn good car. Look past the boy racer bits, buy it in black and you could have a really good car. It's 500 notes less than a 197 too wink.gif style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
