If it were me, I'd get the rusty bits done, polish the car to death and have the insides valetted. Rear shelf and headrests. It's in pretty good nick and with all the extras pack. It'd sell in a week.

Shame I don't need another Lupo right now. Although the AMF engine is so easy to mod...

Thanks for that mk2 its getting fully valeted this coming week, not going to sort the bit rust on the arch out mainly due to time and work etc. I will leave that for someone else to make it as good as it can be. , i will miss it very much and hope the new owner appreciates it as the future classic it will be. Already have a lot of interest on ebay , but would prefer it to be with a forum member who will appreciate it.

A newer version of mine which also started life in the NE, similar rust issue but the other side, sunroof on mine too. Window problems sorted though by fitting wind ups. mines done many  more miles at 180,000 plus, otherwise similar, same interior alloys etc. The issues with your wishbones and brake lines are down to winter salt. Although mine started life in Darlington I bought it from Manchester where the rain usually keeps the salt away and this winter we had only 3 nights of frost so for the last 3 years no real salt corrosion.

My SEAT Arosa TDI, a local car has no salt corrosion at all.

All my Lupos have had or have some corrosion on the rear arches. Just bad design...

Subframes suffer a lot, as can the front sills, just behind the wings (dirt trap that needs regular cleaning out), and springs. Most is easy to treat with waxoyl to delay life, but the arches are always a pain. Easy to sort though if you have respray gear. :)

Agree about waxoyl, my father used to buy it direct from the little workshop in Prudhoe where it originated

Despite its age or weather related faults i am going to miss it. Its rapid acceleration make it a lot more confident in overtaking etc , its the engine that just keeps on given.
