weslangdon
just passed an MOT, with my sons 1.4 75 bhp car, brakes good all round, no leaks or fluid loss, but a faint flashing red brake light on the dash, on the other dial the rev counter is going nuts, could these be connected

Pete
Could possibly be an internal fault with your instrument cluster yeah, more than likely related, but obv it is possible you have individual faults with your brake fluid level switch and the fuel tank sender unit. But I reckon personally it's a cluster fault.
weslangdon
I disconnected the battery, waited a couple of minute then re connected it, this cleared both faults...brake light came on with the handbrake up as it should.Sadly only a temporary fix, fault with flashing faint brake light has now returned, but so far the rev counter has returned to normal, booked to see an auto electrician on Friday

weslangdon
plug and play with the 2nd hand instruments; now showing a airbag fault, something the electronic reader had identified, so another bargain basement replacement on its way thank you e-bay
