could've been me!! got a few mates who live in grinny!!!
  2. i also think that the square area under the strap could be used to keep the owners manual there?!
  3. the big hook-shaped bit is for a screw-on towing eye, tho don't think it applies to lupos
  4. mine came with two sets of locking wheel bolts, as the original wheels got stolen whilst it was on the forecourt!!! only one of the tabs on the battery cover is broken, but i did that!! anyway, my car seems to spend more time in the garage than me driving it, so i can't really break much more!!!
  5. the thing you have to remember is that vw don't always print the right part number on the part, and this is stop companies that produce pattern parts from providing inferior parts and claim they are vw genuine!! i'm using the latest version of ekta at work, and the numbers i have are as follows: 5-Speed 6x0 711 118 r mcg - black/red leather £54.10 + VAT 6-Speed 6x0 711 118 n mcg - gearstick knob with boot for gearstick lever (leather) black £71.98 + vat 6X0 711 118 AE QUZ - gearstick knob (leather) with gearstick trim (leatherette) black/red £33.93 + vat i have checked these numbers against all the years the lupo has been out, and they are relevant to all gti's

  8. know someone with loadsa p-slots tho!!!
  9. that part number has 091 on the end of it, and has been obsolete from vw since 07/09/1996!
  10. back in my younger and more innocent days, a mate of mine had a nova sr that he was running a set of tsw blades on, and seeing as tsw didn't make blades's with a vauxhall offset, he had them as a et40, telling me that sometimes the steering didn't self-centre. have you checked the offset of the wheels you're running is correct for your car?

Been there every month for about the last year, just keeps getting better!! more and more lupo's are turning up too, think we should all park together!!
  12. yeah, had my own spell of gremlins!! took my car into work to have new rear discs and pads ( at 22k!), and have an exhaust rattle looked at. the rattle turned out to be the cat falling apart inside!!! had it all changed, thankfully under warranty, and 2 days later, the emc light came on. drove it home, opened the bonnet, closed it, and the light went out. so i took it into work, had it put on 1551, threw up bank 1 lambda probe fault. technician said it was probably due to the wiring being disturbed, or possibly a bit of dirt on the end of the sensor! i'm slowly having most of my car replaced under warranty, still need to get my high level brake light re-done (4th time!), and maybe the door check rods!! but for some reason, i still love my car!!!!
  13. don't think halfrauds sell aero blades yet! they cost me £38 and i work for vw!! think euro car parts sell just the blades for around £11 each tho, but early aero blades are differnt to later ones. early ones used lupo specific blades, but the later type use mk4 golf, and the attatchment clip is different. i had to buy one of the arms eith the blade, as thats the only way vw sell them!! and no, you can't just change the rubber on gti ones as the rubber is part of the fin part on the blade!!
  14. bargain mate, dunno what you're moaning aboot!!! hehe!! like you're letter in vwdriver tim!!
  15. part number time hehe!! cyl no1 - 036 905 430 R cyl no2 - 036 905 430 S cyl no3 - 036 905 430 T cyl no4 - 036 905 430 AA retail price for all of them is £54.57 inc vat, don't get much discount on them myself!
  16. vw list the lupo as being on a time and distance regime, with 9000 miles or 1 year, whichever is soonest.
  17. these are for the 6-speed g/box leather - 6x0 711 118 nmcg - £71.98 + vat leatherette - 6x0711 118 aequz - £33.93 + vat
  18. wvwzzz - this means VW manufactured and the zzz is just a filler 6ez - this is model description 2 - this is the model year b - the factory (b-brussels, w-wolfsberg ect..) 999999 - the actual chassis number from the chassis number, vw can tell you pretty much everything you would want to know about your car! my gti was built on 24/1/2003 and sold in april 2003. most lupos seem to be built in wolfsberg, but due to it unfortunately coming near the end of its life, production was switched to brussels. i believe that normal lupos ceased production circa calender week 23 this year.
  19. hello chris! welcome aboard!!!
  20. .....blue gti, didn't see driver or how old the car was, but it was heading towards the kingswood roundabout on the A217 this morning about 7.30ish......not being driven gently either heheheh!!!
  21. sweet! like the chrome handles!!
  22. i think that you use the vw keys on the slot between the "TA" button and in the switch blank on the other side. they go in upright!
  23. stop f*cking about and get on with it lol!! style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":P" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />
