  1. I’ve used it when I’ve needed to 🙄
  2. Seen veggie oil that got decanted into a jar. It went gloopy after a short while. I think I one ran a tank of it in my old lupo but never went back for any more. @bernd that’s quite a big difference from round town to motorway. Wonder what a 1.4 petrol would do too?
  3. Forget £1.69 just seen £1.81 brighouse West Yorkshire!!
  4. And today I’ve now seen diesel @ £1.69!! out of interest what are gti’s doing to the gallon and petrol 1.4’s?
  5. Would the crank sensor light up the glow plug light and sometimes activate the oil buzzer?
  6. As title, It’s a problem that has been swept under the carpet for a year now as I’ve been doing other issues but now it’s unbearable. The engine might not cut out for weeks and run fine but recently it’s been often and in slow busy traffic. The symptoms are usually engine stops dead in slow traffic and diesel glow light comes on. When it’s been moving at faster speeds the oil light comes on and warning buzzer too only for a second then restarts under its momentum. Interior light is off so it’s not ignition side or immobiliser I don’t think. Sometimes from cold there wasn’t a fuel pump sound and it would just spin on the starter and nothing. Other times on motorways (yes I’ve big balls) it’s ‘blipped’ but instantly carried on. I’ve got so mad with it at times I’ve ragged all the non important wire blocks like air sensors and also the stuff on the bulkhead with vac pipes attached and then the little **** starts! This car has never left me stranded but just embarrassed me in front of other motorists. I wish it wouldn’t run at all than be erratic. Any ideas?
  7. Flog the Cooper as it’ll be years before it comes of age. The ‘Rossa’ tdi is on its way to become desirable
  8. I like your golf!! The lupo TDI is a favourite with me especially in a yellow or a green. Keep up the good work
  9. Wish my tdi did 80!! It does 50’s round town but I does feel nice to know it’s desirable in a good way
  10. It’s like feeding caviar to pigs 🐷 sorry to say
  11. What’s wrong with yours, do you just need to press the bearing out?
  12. Can we change the subject now onto happier times? Heheheh
  13. Not followed prices for the ordinary base ‘go to work Cars’ as I usually follow what I own. From what I can gather I do agree they have got to the end of the line for the mechanically ignorant/incapable self maintenance owners. Does that mean precious cars to the crusher now? The thing is other than the gti’s and slowly following Tdi’s the rest are still in transition state so prices still are down. New service parts are also still cheap which must come to an end at some point. Would you think it could turn cult status like the sixties fiat 500?
  14. Take as many pics as you can inc grubby stuff and file it with your docs. If anything ever happens you just collect current advert prices and show them the market value. If they don’t agree then tell them to keep the money but replace the car and deliver one to your doorstep exactly like your photos described yours. That’ll make them realise
  15. You do realise this is a petrol 1 ltr and a diesel?
  16. I’ll race you to buy it! Heheheh
  17. What a monstrosity! Scrap value only. Why would you want to be seen in that?
  18. The cars not far from me actually but you seem to be mid Scotland which is a risk if your not happy. I have a bit of a fetish of checking out sellers before I jump into my car to buy. From the impression I get is the seller is pond life and has limited words. He’s trading in Bradford which is a dark dodgy hole on its own these days. If you check out his real feed back and ignore the fact that his last year is 100% you’ll find his rating peppered in negatives with an unhappy trail of buyers. The car is worth between £500-£750 only because of it rarity, but at that expect to carry out a full restoration as on cars with that mileage expect fatigue on body panels like torn inner door shells, clapped out suspension, frayed seat fabric and soggy controls like steering wheel, gear lever, indicator stalks and the list goes on. I personally am not against high mileage if it’s one owner and pampered to death. With this one I’d want it given to me.
  19. Yes it’s star ship mileage and well used but if you check it out on one of the databases it’s seemed to have stayed the same mileage or lost a bit! Condition wise , it’s got worse and don’t go by the sellers 100%positive feedback as the previous year it’s full of negatives. I googled it yesterday and found info from another ‘in between’ website for sale from a year ago from an owner who had it from 2013 with same faults. I’m sure I actually emailed him at the time as i was interested but the insurance was sky high as it was unusual and lhd. Not sure to what road tax is as one website says its £170 per year as it’s a year 2000 and previous owner said it was free.
  20. Sufficient if your unskilled and it’s the best you can do.
  21. I notice L3OPUL is back on sale again via eBay. I spotted it less than a year ago on eBay with no test and in need of recommissioning with a rotten sill. It’s obviously had a **** welding job as I wouldn’t ever show welding work like that in the pics but it looks like it’s losing the ability to find a loving owner.
  22. Watched it today and was a good report of a lupo gti. It even nearly made me want to buy one and ditch my ‘Rossa’ as I’m unhappy with my suspension and transmission rumble all the time. But……….. mines cheap to own and cant beat value vs fun!!
