  1. New wheels look great! As does the exhaust (wish I could make it legal over here ).
  2. I hadn't noticed that. I doesn't look like it has aluminium doors, no...
  3. Thanks guys, glad you like it I'm pretty happy with the way the GTi is looking at the moment. I did toy with the idea of fitting a stubby mirror, but I'd rather leave it as original as possible Might give the brake calipers a lick of paint when the winter wheels go on...
  4. How do you know where the cars were built, is it because of the red i's on the badges? I always thought those L*UPO number plates looked really cool
  5. Hello and welcome. I notice you've opened two topics on the same subforum for the same thing. With an hour difference between them. THIS here would be the appropriate subforum in which to open a topic such as this. Good luck.
  6. Nothing special, just the standard 1.4 with 70bhp.
  7. Make sure it's the TDi. Always the best long term option
  8. To be honest, I don't like the idea of diversifying. I don't really know why the Fox is even included here. Arosas are fine as they are the same model basically (although dirty, eh Rich). Soon these cars will start being considered "classic" or at least valued, and people will come here again. Less stance / cutting them up and more OEM / preservation. Which will be good
  9. You love it. Apart from a sunroof (have I ever mentioned that before? ) it's exactly as I would have bought it had I had the money when they were on sale. Safe to say I'm well chuffed of the way the car looks right now. Not much left to do to it now apart from enjoying and taking care of it. Speaking of which, I gave it a clean today and took some pictures so Rich can enjoy how rapey it is. There
  10. I'm liking those track pictures. The car looks just right over there. New wheels look very nice too, I wouldn't know which ones I'd rather use
  11. Maybe it's just the very later ones, such as this one: https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=240943073&damageUnrepaired=NO_DAMAGE_UNREPAIRED&isSearchRequest=true&makeModelVariant1.makeId=25200&makeModelVariant1.modelDescription=gti&makeModelVariant1.modelId=21&pageNumber=2&scopeId=C
  12. That and the inside mirror covers in textured black plastics as opposed to body colour. Other than that, it's all the same.
  13. Thanks guys! Time for an update... A big service has been done, as well as a polish to keep it shiny... and more importantly, the BBS wheels are on! I thought I might as well show it off along the SDi, which is also on BBS wheels
  14. It's only on late GTi's (2004 and 2005) that the engine cover says GTi and not 1.6 16v. With that said, and if VW only sell them with the engine cover, you can always get a GTi logo and stick it on yourself. Try eBay or similar.
  15. It isn't. ^ this. And they will last forever.
  16. Buy it fast before people realize they will be valuable classics and they start going up in value
  17. Still better than aircon and battery up front
  18. Answers in red to the best of my knowledge
  19. We have a different understanding to what makes a car more interesting / valuable. Apparently being able to fit a tow bar is the new cool
  20. If you want a TDi that will hold it's value better than other Lupos go for a 3L. And it's still not a better investment than a GTi. The 1.4TDi is just a basic Lupo with an interesting engine, as could be a 100bhp Sport. The latter one at least adds rear discs and centre exit exhaust making it the most "special" if you wish out of the "normal" Lupos.
  21. Perfectly explained and congrats on the buy! Tell us more about mileage and spec
