  1. Would look good in a skip more like! All your puffing and huffing and you post a pic up of a POS with a manky roofbox...and clean that **** off the pavement (not the Arosa, the bin liners)...Do you lie in bed at night with a chubby on wishing you had a GTI or do you just like stirring it up...oh, sorry, have I upset you?
  2. I'll get on it straight away lol...down to lack of use and lazy owners! ...and Silver!...you don't need to swap your GTI for a TDI, as your "Currently Driving" says you already have a silver one along with your GTI
  3. My wife commented that you didn't notice her VW "wolf" seatbelt cuddly toy (in the rear)...one optional extra I would of done without but she saw it in Smith Knight Fay and had to have it!
  4. Lol...how anal are you lot! I doubt they've ever been dusted, never mind cleaned...out of sight, out of mind and all that. The bodywork normally has a mirror finish, but it's not had the coats of carnauba wax this year as we're a tad busy renovating the house and garden (untouched for 4 years). I missed out on a set of standard wheels the other night on ebay, they went for less than £80 (worn tyres, no centrecaps and needed a refurb) but I was busy...after your comments, I'm going to keep looking for a set and put it back to completely standard again, if it stays with us...I like to have my classic bikes as they came out of the factory (even down to buying original bolts at extortionate prices), so there's no excuse to not get the Lupo back to its former glory!
  5. I draw the line at cotton wool, but ours has lived in a carpeted, heated garage whilst we've owned it and never taken out when it's raining or even a chance of it...in fact the only time it gets wet is when I wash it and even then it gets dried off with a miraclecloth! Here's a load of hi-res pics I took this morning for someone who's mailed me about it, judge for yourselves...

I'm going to take some photos of it today if it stops raining and will post up later.
  7. This TDI/GTI banter is reminiscent of the Hayabusa/ZZR14 one, both have their good points but it depends on which you own lol...I'll have a talk with the missus and see where we go from here, it'll probably still have to go as my garage is full of two-wheeled toys, so no storage option and I don't want to see the exhaust, or worse, damaged on the track to the house...was hoping it'd go to a friend or family where we could keep an eye on it!
  8. I've just looked closer and it has airbag written on the top side of each front seat, so it has side airbags too.
  9. Water off a ducks back...no need to be sorry, we all have opinions and it's always good to hear others...I had a TDI Golf (all red letters in TDI) for a while 10 years or so ago and it was really fast off the line!
  10. He reckoned there were a few available for around that price...probably is, but I'll wager they're not in as good condition and low mileage
  11. I've seen a brochure with a head-on photo of our car on a track with the L2 UPO plate and have been looking for it on ebay etc for ages, the service booklet has the same reg no tippexed out and OE02xxx overwritten and the previous owner was Volkswagen, Oxford...by your photo of the black one, it does look like they swapped and changed the plates about (it's great to find more about the history of the car, thanks). I'm not up to speed with what was standard or not, so am unsure of options fitted...but here's a list of whats fitted... Elec Sunroof, windows and mirrors/Heated leather seats/Aircon/CD radio/split-zone alarm/Xenon headlights with wash/colour-coded handles & mirrors/6sp gearbox...hope that helps! Oh...and Mark wanted the car, but we couldn't agree a price (I even showed him this thread to show I wasn't on drugs lol)...he reckoned 3k was more realistic for such an old car, which is actually more than I thought it was worth before before posting on here...thanks for the input and opening my eyes ClubLupo!!
  12. Dustbins are Galvo'd and they still rust too...and I know a 125Bhp 1600cc car is not fast, but in this context it's faster than a TDi, with or without a towhook...If you want fast, try my 500+Bhp Hayabusa Land Speed Racing bike, it's not fast it's scary lol
  13. Rear brakes have been fine for the 12 years we've owned it...who the hell would want to tow anything in a Lupo GTI...and being a competent driver, my wife has never dinged it...however, the ally parts are showing no signs of rust unlike alot of other Lupos I see around...horses for courses I suppose, slow, steel, oil burner or fast, ally, screamer (I prefer my oil burners for work related stuff, Astravan, 280 Transit and 2x LWB Sprinters)...and Mark has just taken it out for a blast to Bala and back on his own, I'll talk money with him after he's put a big grin on his face!
  14. ...all weekly items...made me chuckle...we had the choice of 2002 Beetle, Mini Cooper and the Lupo (all £7k) when the wife was looking for a car to replace her Mk1 Golf GTI Cabby and looking at the resale values now, I think we made the right choice!!
  15. She only wants a Lupo GTI or Beetle "The Penguin"...I'm not sure a diesel that needs fettling would suit a young lady and her dad won't want to be stuck in the garage all weekend trying to sort it out when he could be out on his bike! Good luck with your sale though...you never know, if Mark says "no way, it's too expensive!" tomorrow, you could always buy my wife's with the proceeds from yours...you'll need a few more bids yet though
