  1. cant be a relay though can it. because the window goes up and down fine with no problem, just it wont go further than halfway down, as if the window thinks its at the bottom. will get the doorcards off tomorrow and check if its catching anything
  2. hey, iv tried using the search but cant find this same problem. the window work fine using the switch, up and down no problem. however, the drivers side will only go down about halfway and then stops. the switch works up and down everytime so surely cant be that. think that makes sense. any ideas cheers
  3. just thought. it depends what you want. if you want sq (sound quality) then follow above. if you want spl or streetbass (just total loudness of bass) then do this. back seats out, decent big sub in a huge ported box tuned to the right frequency. as before cant give you makes or models without a set budget, but let me no and i can help you choose. and as before, sound deadening is a must. and depending on power you are pushing, a second battery split charged may be nccessary
  4. right, 1st things 1st. sound deadening. no matter how much you spend on a ice system, it will never sound its best if you do not deaden the car properly. make sure that the doors and boot floors and boot lid are done at a minimum. 6x9 are a bit of a no go to be honest in the serious audio world. a decent set of component speakers mounted properly ( mids on mdf baffles in doors, n tweets in a pillars) run off a decent 2chanel amp will be fine for mid and high frequencies. depending on money and your headunit, run them active for even better performance and quality. get some1 to aim them to set the staging for you, because this makes a huge difference to quality. then a decent sub in the right sized box, powered by a separate amp. this will be more than enough in a small car like a lupo. without knowing your budget for the complete system i cant recomend any particular items. however i helped build, and have heard my mates system in a fiat 500 (similarly sized tiny boot, and it sounds amazing) comps and a decent small sub in a sealed box can sound mint
  5. hey guys, iv only just come across this thread but thought id post because it could help someone. if people are wanting to use there rear wiper switch as a switch 4 there boot solinoid, but are worried about opening it while they are driving by accidently pressing the button, there is a simple way to wire it in so it only works while the engine is off. if you run it through a relay it possible to get it to work while the engine is off but not work when the engine is running. we are going to use a 30amp change-over relay for this. what you need to do is tap in to the wiring for the rear wiper switch. run this to number 30 on your relay, then out of number 87a run a wire to your solinoid, or to your next relay if you are using a relay for your solinoid. put no wires onto number 87. this will then be a constant feed through the relay when it is in its un-energised state. if you want to cut of this feed, so that it doesnt work when you turn your engine on then you need to energise the relAY. to do this, you need to run a wire from 86 to an earth point (any part of the chassis or metal fixture) and then run a wire from 85 to an engine run wire (only current when engine is running) this will then energise the relay when the engine is running and cut off any current to the boot solinoid popper. i cant help you with finding a engine run wire as i have never had my lupo apart and worked on it, but there will be one to pick up on somewhere under the dash. if not, a simpler option to finding a engine run wire if you have no multimeter is using a feed off alternator positive to 85. so when the engine is off, the current is flowing from the wiper switch to the boot solinoid and opens the boot, but when the engine is running, the relay is energised and cuts off current to the solinoid, preventing any accidental boot openings at 70mph. hope that makes sense, if not i can do you a diagram. i just hope that it helps someone out lol rich

  16. was me. was looking for a space outside my mates down listley street. gave up in the end after a few laps and stuck it in the carpark lol
  17. wash my car every friday afternoon without fail, rain or snow. and if i hear 'you can do mine after' or 'you'll wash the paint off' many more times, im gona go insane lol but the weirdest place... well, i remember once when i had my clio, id spent ages washing it on a friday and it looked perfect. but me and the misses went somewhere on the saturday and it meant going down a narrow lane. well a 4x4 came the other way, and of course they arent bought to go offroad so she wouldnt move into the side. and as it was a woman (lol only joking) she couldnt reverse back so i ended up having to reverse back and into the side but got it muddy. so with a bottle of pop, i emptied it and used it to wash the mud off with water from a stream and a napkin lol. just till i got home and washed it properly. sad i know, and the misses thought i was mad
  18. na didnt even scratch his, just knocked the dirt off lol. he had a big chrome rear bumper bar thing so that did quite abit of damage to mine. thing that p**s's me off, is it wernt even my fault at all. i was parked up, not even in the car. i no things like that happen but im gutted. aint really had the best of weeks anyway. split up with the misses after 3 years on sunday, that happened yesterday, what next lol its friday the 13th friday lol
  19. what must have cost a fortune, the car or the damage. car was 8500 damage, well i took it to vw but theres now bodyshop there so not a proper figure, but they looked and said with new parts, spraying and labour, will be about 1500. but if bodyshop have a proper look they might find more damage below the surface. but at least i know everything that is even slightly damaged will be replaced with new. and i know it will because i know a couple of the chaps quite well
  20. well, 2 moths ago i picked up my lovely silver gti. 05plate with only 4000miles. it was an absolute minter, not a scratch and looked like the day it came out of the factory. and with a 4hour clean every friday afternoon without fail, still looked like this now, until last night. was abit hungry so thought id pop out to the chippy, as you do, so i parked up in the carpark opposite, carefully choosing the best space (theres an art to finding the right spot lol) but looks like i choose the wrong one this time. as i came out of the chippy, i walked into carpark 2 see a mitsubishi l200 warrior reversing towards my car. i thought to myself he aint going to stop and then i heard it... crunch. been into vw 2day and they looked at it. front bumper bent and cracked and pushed up, wing bent in and pushed out about 10mm, main beam light smashed, carrier for raddiator fan bent, some other bracket or sumthin bent. but im gonna take his insurance for all i can, brand new everything, even if it could be easily fixed i want a brand new one, and vw have said they will do this so bit p***ed off but oh well, it'll get sorted rich
  21. haha. my 1st go i got....... wait for it...... 0.281seconds

    VTec

the original civic type r is still by far the best. a proper drivers car. and for people not into jdm cars, im not on about the uks first. im talking bout the jdm only, ek9 civic. 180bhp and 5.7 secs to 60 out of a 1.6 litre lump. thats vtec for you. amazing car to drive, just a shame i cant insure my own for a reasonable price at the moment

i have to agree, pure automotive sex. the original civic type r. it was between one of these or my gti, but i couldnt quite justify the 2k insurance premium
